A couple Sundays ago we left Mallory’s blanket at Grandma Mary’s house and didn’t realize it until we were driving down our street. Its an hour drive back to Grandma Mary’s house. Um. Paper. Rock. Scissors. Who is going to break the news to her?

It didn’t take her long to figure it out on her own and the tears. Oh the tears! The tears! Did I mention there were tears? There were tears! I so brilliantly came up with this plan… Mallory you can have Mommy’s special blanket! Do you want to sleep with Mommy’s special blanket tonight? Between sniffles and tears she says, but what will you sleep with? Aw!! So sweet! I reassured her that I would be okay and she could have my blanket and that we would go get her blanket after work the next day. Easy! She went to bed without a hitch!
Mommy’s special blanket – was just the blanket from the living room. : ) Shhhh! She thinks it is my blanket!
Well the next day Jesse sent an email that it was a beautiful day and we should take the Jeep out and go for a picnic. He forgot I needed to go get Mally’s blanket. It was a prefect plan.

We could stop at a park between their house and ours. Eat a picnic of nachos… tacos were on the schedule that night and I couldn’t figure out how to turn them into a picnic – so I made deluxe nachos. Delish.

Kids got to play at the playground.
The kids were huge fans of this unplanned picnic, park and Jeep ride night!
After the park we went to get Mally’s blanket. Was she so excited to get that back in her arms!

The moon was kind of neat on our drive home.

I was working on metering on my camera on how to get pictures without having to use my flash. I got it! Blurry! But I got it!

I was able to get a picture of this sky!

On the way home it was a little chilly and Mally kept asking to roll up her window… she didn’t have a window to roll up. So I kept tucking her into her blanket. And she eventually fell asleep.

Max fell right to sleep.

And this is how you look after a night of riding in the Jeep!!
