A Doctor in the House!

We finally have a doctor in the house!! You know I can use this to my advantage... he can write my boss a note that says "Lynn can't work today - Doctors orders." Except he is a doctor of psychology... so they might think that I have gone crazy and that is why I can't go to work. Oh - we'll let them think that... maybe they'll give me an extra day to get it back together! LOL.

Back on track here...

We went back to Oregon on Wednesday for Jesse to graduate with a PsyD at George Fox University. It was so much fun being in Oregon!! The weather was typical Portland weather. We were greeted with rain but we did get some sunshine towards the end of our trip.

The first night there we went back to our apartment complex and had a cook out with our neighbors. Way too much fun! The girls stepped out for a bit and went to the bar down the road for a drink.

Friday was graduation. Jesse was able to give a speech after he was hooded. I cried! When he was writing his speech he told me that it was funny! But somehow from the time he wrote it to the time he actually said it - it brought tears! Even Jesse got a little choked up! Awww! Too sweet!

Saturday we spent the day with Jesse's parents. We went to the Columbia River Gorge to Bonneville Dam.

This above picture is where the salmon come up. They count every salmon in this river!! We even saw the gal in her room with a huge window where she just watched for a fish to swim by. When one did she would push a button on her keyboard. Pretty sure I would not be good at this job, as I would fall asleep. It is even dark in this room!

It was a wonderful trip! We were able to see all our Oregon friends which was much needed!!
Thanks to Ryan & Lin and Scott & Megan for opening up your house to us so that we could see everyone!!

Summer Really is Coming

We had a beautiful day here. It reached a high of 71!!!!

We did everything 'summer' today... I wore shorts (of course!) and we grilled out for the first time since we have been here. YUM! And we sat out on the patio tonight! Well Jesse was out on the patio when I came home drinking a cold one and talking to his buddy on the phone... so I snuck out there for a bit and soaked up the nice night and took a picture. : )

Here is what it looks like around here... no buds on the tree... and our grass is slowly turning green.

Oh and it is allergy season again... can you tell which one of my eyes is suffering. LOL. I had no idea it looked like that in real life. I guess I better go take my contacts out and give my eyes a break. I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't have allergies this summer... WRONG! My eye started watering on Sunday and it wouldn't stop... that morning it felt like some thing was in it so I stuck my finger in it - I thought that was the reason for the watering. Well it has been watering ever since. Oh and the million sneezes are here! Ick.

New Blog

When Jesse and I first got married it was the big joke with Jesse's Dad that Jesse would be eating spaghetti out of a box and macaroni & cheese every night. Boy did I prove his Dad wrong. Okay, maybe it took about a year to prove him wrong... but I did. : )

Eventually I started to enjoy cooking and then it turned into trying new recipes every week. Now we have the Food Network channel and I am addicted! I use to make everything Rachael Ray... but now that I have the Food Channel I have found new people that I enjoy just as much. So I'll try not to bombard with you a bunch of Rachael Ray... but I will tell you that her meals are fast, easy, and good!

I thought it would be fun to share some of these recipes with you that I find. Plus right now I have far too much time on my hands so it will be good to get these recipes out there and organized and then some day when I don't have this much time I can just pop on here and make my menu and shopping list.

Here's the blog: http://lmf-recipes.blogspot.com/
Hope you enjoy it as much I will enjoy sharing them.

Prom & 4-Wheelers

We went back to our parents this weekend because my little brother was going to prom and I wanted to see him (and his date) all dressed up. I had an entire audience when I went to prom so I thought it was only fair that Adam have an audience too. Too cute!!

On Sunday we were over at the Freys because Jesse's Dad was going to boil maple syrup with his friend from work. His friend has a little boy, and they brought his 4-wheeler for him to ride around while they boiled the syrup. It was so fun watching this little boy ride his wheeler. He went straight for the mud puddles. By the time he was done his back was full of mud.
