Pictures

I just realized I haven't showed you any pictures of our move or even of our house! Sheesh, what am I thinking! So here it goes... enjoy!

SOLD!!
Yes, the big orange trailer was packed to the max with our stuff. We had way more trailer space with this move because we didn't have to haul the Jeep on it... where did all the extra stuff come from? I have no idea!! I think it was Jesse though. ; )

Our living room upstairs. Don't you love all those windows! I sure do! That was the first thing the neighbors noticed when we moved... I see you opened the curtains and opened the windows! Yup, she never opened her curtains or opened the windows. If she was hot she would just run the AC even if it was cooler outside.

This is standing in the living room looking into our dining room. You can't see the dining room? Oh... let me point out that black & white table... that is the dining room... under all those boxes and couch cushions! There... now can you see it?! Do you see the orange floor! Ah, I knew you could see the orange floor... how could you miss it! That is the dining room folks!!

I knew you wanted a closer look at that orange floor!! Here you go! It seriously looks and feels like brand new! I'm sure it was very stylish back in the day!Unloading...

more unloading...

Do you see those big pine trees in the background. I really like these trees. And I do believe they are on our side!! You can't really see it in this picture but they look more blue then green. So pretty! Don't you think they would be so pretty with some white Christmas lights?? Um, Jesse get your extension ladder ready I have a project for you!!

still unloading...

I'm so excited that this unloading is going extremely fast that I bring my boxes in upside down! Look closely... that box is upside down! I hope nothing breakable is in that one!

More couch cushions. I am not sure where they all came from... didn't realize we had so many! This is sort of looking from the dining room into our living towards the front entrance. LOL. Did you follow all that. This whole corner of the house is very dark wood paneling type stuff. It has gotta go... and soon!! I do like that retro-round light hanging over our entrance, don't you?

This is my favorite... except that wood in the peak. Paint covers it... or so I'm hoping. My question is this: I want to paint the walls a natural warm yummy brown from that painting and then what do I do with that wood peak & beam? Do I paint it the same color as the walls? Do I paint it a lighter color of the brown I go with? Do I dare leave it?

Garage! Jesse is building himself a work bench! Such a handy guy he is!

I bought him this nice organizer for his new garage. Good thing I did because it came in real handy when he needed to cut wood!! They should sell these things as: Garage Organizers or can be used as a saw horse!

Oh and a blog is not complete until you see Ms. Elly!! She is sitting on my Dad's lap down in our basement!

Trailer is unpacked!! Yes!!!

I already started a mini makeover on our kitchen! It is taking a lot of time, patience, and work. Yesterday it took Jesse half the day to a hang a new light fixture! I love it!

Friday Jesse spent the entire day (I would say almost 9 hours) pressure washing and farnishing/sealing our deck. Um... it rained that night and washed off all the farnish/sealing!!! We were so disappointed and mad and washed away about $100 worth of farnish! Grrrr! Home ownership lesson #1 learned!! Farnish deck in the summer not in the fall, I guess! It was such a beautiful day that we thought it was a perfect day to do it... oh well. I will say that it will look fantastic once it actually gets done... we really liked it before it rained! Now it just looks like... what toddler farnished your deck?! Seriously... it looks bad!!

Oh and yesterday Jesse's Dad brought over a huge load of dirt for me to plant my garden next year! I can't wait! We picked out the perfect spot for it... but it was a little tricky getting a truck and trailer back to it for Dave to dump the load of dirt. So, he um... drove over a few bushes!! I was in the house making a mean pot of chili and Jesse came in and said... we only lost one bush! I secretly hoped it wasn't the rose bush! Nope it wasn't!! Whew! It was a bush I had no idea what it was... although my Mom probably did and it probably was something amazing. I'll never know now. I guess we had to sacrifice it for a garden! : ) I am also told this dirt should grow me a mean garden. It is buffalo, horse and cow manure!! Yummy, eh!? I can't wait to get started on it! Except I know nothing about growing a garden. When do I plant? What can be planted next to each other? Do I have to start some plants inside? Hmm... guess I better get to a book store and start learning.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!!

The Wedding!

Here are some pictures from the wedding. I am trying out a new program because I had so many pictures and it would of taken me a life time to upload them all and post to this blog. Hope you enjoy it...

It was a beautiful wedding even if it did rain the entire day! Steph was a beautiful bride! It was so cute to see Jerry and Steph get married. There was a point during the ceremony where I had to stop looking at them because Jerry's eyes were starting to fill with tears... and I could already tell that Steph was trying to distract herself by singing along to the song that her uncle & little cousin were singing! Too cute!

After the wedding we took some fun pictures inside the church with her entire wedding party! After pictures we went to the reception center for a night of celebrating... which we did! Ate a fantastic supper... which I wish I could of enjoyed a little more... I had to give a speech and my stomach started flipping and I could no longer eat. I delivered my speech first... which was letting Steph in on the top 8 things she will experience being married to a Frey. I think I remember people laughing... which is what I wanted... but it is all kind of blur now and glad that it is over. Still makes my palms sweat when I think about it. Then Master Jesse gets up and gives his speech. Lets just say that I am so glad I went before him because he rocked the house!! Seriously! His speech was fantastic!!

After supper was a night of dancing and good times. For not know many people in their wedding party we all hit off and we all had so much fun with each other! We kept telling Jerry & Steph... can we do this again next year!? Too fun!

The downfall of a wedding is... my feet never hurt so bad before! Oh my goodness! I went to bed and had to force myself to think happy thoughts so I wouldn't think about my throbbing feet! Then I woke up in the morning and the first thought was... ah my feet feel good... but don't get out of bed because as soon as you put pressure of them puppies they are going to yelp! Sure enough... they did! It was well worth the pain... because that was a very fun night!!

Small Town Life

Jesse and I got home late Sunday afternoon from a long weekend of celebrations... Jesse's brother Jerry got married! We were so tired that we decided to make a bee-line for the couch and turn on some Sunday afternoon football to sleep to ~before~ we unloaded our truck. Well, after we woke up from our nap, ate something, unloaded the truck and noticed that we needed a few items from the grocery store it was 8:45pm. Our first thought was - hurry, they probably close at 9. We fly out of the house and get to the store to realize they close at 6!!! The grocery store closes at 6 on Sunday!!!!!

I guess this is my 2nd sign that I am now officially living in a very tiny small town. : )

My first sign was when I ran into these guys and their truck. Check out the deer horns stick out of their windows!!!

Then I got closer and really saw the small town life. Chew-dip smiles, beer bottle caps stuck to their hats, a nice small town bend to the brim of their hats, sporting the latest deer hunting shirts. Deer horns sticking out of their windows. Ohmygosh! City life where are you?!!?

Lets all just pretend that the kid in the orange is NOT my brother! And those are NOT his oh-so cool 'hick' friends!

I've been tagged!

On September 11th...

20 years ago I was... 5. I probably just started kindergarten and my teacher was Mrs. Box! I believe I went to afternoon kindergarten because I needed to get off the bus at the middle school and walk to my babysitters... who I think lived right by the middle school. So maybe my walk was a block long. Anyway, that did not go so well!! The middle school kids flooded the bus and I couldn't get off. I don't really remember any of it... just remember from stories my Mom told. Oh and we have pictures of me on my first day of kindergarten and my little sister, Shannon, is bawling!! She didn't want me to go school!! So sweet!!

10 years ago I was... 15. I think I just started high school! How scary is that! I remember my cousin, Jody, took me to the high school that summer to show me where all my classrooms were and where my locker was! So sweet of her! Oh... and this would be the year that I run into this guy, Jesse Frey. Lets talk about this for just a moment... because it would be about 10 years ago. In high school (when you are freshman) the very cool thing to do is walk the halls before school. My 2 best buds and I are walking the hall giggling and being girly I am sure of it. These 2 older guys stop and ask if I would go to the Homecoming dance with Jesse Frey. I looked at them and said, "Who is Jesse Frey?" I can't remember if I said yes or no to them. Later on I meet Jesse Frey!! He stopped me in the stairwell and asked me to go with him. Of course I froze because he was cute!! And I said yes! Why did I say yes!!!? I freaked out, came home, and told my Mom I told a guy in the junior class that I would go to homecoming and I don't really want to go. She told me I had to go or I would break is heart. FINE! I went to homecoming with him and after that day... I ditched him. I didn't want anything more to do with him.

5 years ago I was... 20. Funny thing happened this year! I have just married this Jesse Frey guy from high school! We have been married for a month and 2 days at this point! We are living in Tigard, Oregon and we don't know a soul yet. We are just starting to get to know Brandon & Natalie and I want to hang out with them every free moment we have because I love them already and they are in the same situation we are in. Just moved, know not a soul, and Brandon is going to grad school with Jesse. I remember when Jesse came home from his 1st day of school and he tells me... I met this guy Brandon today and he has a wife and they sound like really great people for us to get to know. My heart just melted and I couldn't wait to met them! Brandon & Natalie - you guys rock!!! We couldn't of done it without you guys there!!! Oh yeah, 5 years ago I became an Aunt for the first time!!! She turned our world up side down and back again! Love you to pieces Little E! (That's what we called her when she was born... Little E!) She is so big now... I just talked to her on the phone last night and she told me all about kindergarten and they get to take naps!! But they have to keep their eyes open! No talking either! We are just resting! And if you do talk you get in trouble and your clothes pin gets moved to the yellow and the teacher says "this your warning". : ) Too special!!

3 years ago I was... 22. We are still living in Tigard, Oregon. Jesse is still going to grad school. I'm working as an office manager for a small manufacturing company in Hillsboro, Oregon. We now know so many people in Oregon and couldn't have asked for better people to surround us! Gosh I miss you Oregon friends!

1 year ago I was... 24. We just moved from Oregon to Appleton, Wisconsin. We are so excited to be back closer to family that we don't spend any time at our own apartment. Ever weekend we are driving back to see our parents to make up for time we missed. Jesse is a psychologist intern and I still have my job from Oregon!! I worked out a sweet deal with my boss and set it up so that I can work from the comfort of my own home. I was uncertain if I would like working from home as I am a people person and don't like to be left alone for long periods at a time. But it worked out perfectly and I don't ever want to work outside of home again. I've been spoiled!

So far this year... Jesse has landed himself a real, full-time, permanent job as a psychologist! I have hired myself the best assistant a person could ask for to help me out in the Oregon office. We have moved... again. This move though we bought our very own house. Too fun!!

Yesterday I... went to the grocery store, worked, and wrote my speech for the wedding that I am in on Saturday. I'm freaking out! I hate speeches! I'm the maid of honor and they have to give speeches. Ugh! Anyway - it should be super funny... hopefully I can pull it off without a problem! When I am nervous my voice gets shaky, I talk really fast, and I stutter. Please no stuttering in front of 200+ people! Oh man!!!!! Wine? Margarita? They better have something to ease my stutter!! If I have to break down and drink a beer, by golly I'm drinking a beer!! ; )

Tomorrow I will... have the day off from work!!! Sweeeet! I'll be driving up to the wedding to help the bride (my soon to be sister-in-law) decorate for her wedding. We will have rehearsal so I can practice fluffing her dress and making sure she is picture perfect! I will also practice the bouquet hand off! Doesn't the bride hand her bouquet to her bridesmaid during the ring exchange and unity candle. Heaven for bid I drop it! Oh my gosh the stress!!! And the bride thinks she is freaking out! Ha! Oh we will also eat after rehearsal if all goes well. ; ) And then I think all us bridesmaids are crashing the brides hotel room and making sure she sleeps that night... or prevent her from sleeping as we will be giggly and giddy that she is actually going to marry Big Jer... as I like to call him. : )

Next year I will... hmmm.... I'm not sure, but hopefully I will have the privilege of hearing little feet patter across my floors. : ) No Mom... I don't know anything! Promise! My Dad has been having a bad case of heartburn... and when he has his bad case of heartburns it usually means that someone is pregnant in the family. I got a call this week from my Mom... Lynn! Your Dad is having heartburn. Really bad! Poor guy. I am sorry this heartburn is a false alarm! : )

Ew! Gross!

I can't pass this up... you have to take a look at this!!!! No, no, no, no it is not the gift that was left in the bathroom! Just take a look!!!

That is dust on our ceiling fan! In our bedroom!!!!! I remember when we got to the house on Thursday, I called my Mom (so that I could get a break from cleaning) and I was telling her about this ceiling fan and she laughed and said I'm sure it isn't that bad. As soon as she showed up on Saturday I had to take her to see this and get a picture of it, because I could not believe it!

Thank you so much Mom for braving the dust and cleaning this gross thing... even if it broke and doesn't work now. : )

How about some clean and happy pictures... so you don't think we are living in this crazy gross dirty old lady house. : ) There are some happy fun spots and here they are...

We're home owners!!!

The living room upstairs, before we moved anything in.

Just to update you on our internet... we finally got it today at about 12:30ish. It was the most frustrating problem of this whole move! It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't work via the internet and we didn't run our business via the internet... but we do. And we haven't had connection since Friday morning at 8am. Long story short... it maxed my stress level to tears and I cried on the phone with the providor and told them their company sucked. (Totally not like me!) They were telling me I wouldn't have internet until Thursday (tomorrow)... and every day that I called in they would tell me that I would have internet the next day. (It was suppose to be hooked up on Friday... did they forget all this.) Anyway, Jesse only had an hour at work today and then he was done and came home to a wife who was in tears and packing up her desk to go work at the library. He was irate himself because he can't run his business like this and he finally called them and I left for the library.

I get to the library and I only have 90 minutes of internet use... ugh. I get another 90 minutes from the awesome librarian and Jesse calls to tell me that we are hooked up and have internet!!! I immediately come home, grab a Mt. Dew (to cure the tension/stress headache I have) and walk in the door grinning from ear to ear! Who knew internet would be so fun!!

We Made It!

We are all moved into our house. It feels very weird and fun all at the same time.

I'm not on my own computer so I can't show you pictures.... don't even get me started on why we don't have internet yet. It was scheduled to be set up on Friday... and well... long story short... the previous owner has not disconnected her phone yet so they won't hook us up with internet. Grrrrrr! They didn't get the happy sweet Lynn when they called to tell me this... Just hook it up!!! Can't you just pull the plug and put our stuff in... we own the home now?!!? No!! Anyway... hopefully it will be hooked up tomorrow before 10 or I can't work. Which is a bitter sweet. I would love to have another day off... but I would also like a pay check because my mind is just a rolling with all the things I want to do to this house!!! : )

I'll highlight on a few things from the move. Friday morning we left at 5 from Jesse's parents house to go to our apartment and load up all our stuff. We were loaded by 2:30 and stuffed ourselves at Applebees!!! Saturday morning we left Jesse's parents house at 8 and headed to OUR house! : ) We had the trailer unloaded by 11!!! I think we set a record time for unload, and we even had way more stuff!!!

Thursday we went to the house to clean it. Let's stop here and talk about cleaning for a brief moment. Gross!!!!! I am so not cut out to be a cleaning lady! I tried it once... my first job was working at the local hotel as a cleaning lady... I lasted a week! Seriously! And now I just confirmed to myself why!! I get totally grossed out cleaning up after people I don't know. Gives me the shivers! OH!!!!! Guess what we found!!!!! Someone left us a present!!!!!! Not a good one!!!!! I'll give you a few hints... it was left in the bathroom.... in the toilet!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO DOES THIS?!?!!??!?!?!!! I'm not even lying!!! I was afraid of the bathroom, because I have this cleaning up after people grossness thing... so it was Jesse's job. I am so glad that I have this cleaning up after people grossness thing... because if I would of found this... pretty sure we would be selling the house and we would have to move! **shudder**

Enough about cleaning... how about our new neighbors! I love them!!!! When we were there on Thursday we met our neighbors to the right and our neighbors to the left. The neighbors diagonally across the road! They were all so special! I loved them instantly! Most of them are all retirement age and they sound like party animals. They told Jesse if he didn't drink beer he was in the wrong neighborhood... well it just so happens that Jesse can enjoy a beer now and then! ; )

On Saturday while we were moving in the neighbor across the road brought over a cake!!!!! I always wanted a neighbor to do that! It was so good!!! It was fresh out of the oven and warm when she brought it over! That is pretty much all Jesse and I eat as we don't have a oven or fridge until Tuesday! Oh and my Mom left a lot of cookies and chips for us too! But we are working extra hard at unpacking that these snacks are not going to our hips!!! : )

Then last night a neighbor came over with 2 big ripe yummy tomatoes!!! I think we are due for some BLTs in our future!!! Yum! When is my oven coming??? : )

While we were taking our lunch break on Saturday we had a lady driving by yell out her window "Welcome to the neighborhood homeowners!!" We also had some one say, "It is so nice to see some movement and action at this house!"

These neighbors are just special, warm and friendly. They don't hesitate to come over and introduce themselves! They tell us if we need anything to not hesitate to ask!! OH!! And the one lady neighbor (who brought us the cake) told us that they have this lawn mowing thing... They all mow their lawns at the same time and then they take beer breaks! Some times the beer breaks go a little long and they have to finish mowing the next day. We laughed so hard and felt like we would fit right in. : )

I have to run, but as soon as our internet is hooked up I'll be sure to posts some pictures. Oh, and my camera batteries died after I packed up the charger and extra batteries!!! Not good timing. My mom did take pictures for me - so I'll get those and post them too!

Later! : )
