Sugarland!!

My cousin called me a long time ago (I think last year) to see if we wanted to go with her and her boyfriend to Sugarland. Of course!!! Last night we were finally able to go!
I thought it would be fun to make a shirt to wear to the concert. (I know kind of nerdy... but I couldn't resist!) Here is my shirt...

Lonestar played first. We didn't get to see their entire show, because we were stuck in traffic. But I did get to hear them from the traffic line! : ) Lonestar has a new lead singer! Did ya know this? He was pretty good!! When Jesse and I were dating we went to see Lonestar at the fair and we were in the very last row of seats and it was raining! Awww memories!

Out comes Sugarland!!! They are just the cutest duo group ever! Now, I have been a fan of them since their first song came out on the radio! I saw them at a bar in Portland for like $10!! At that time it was just the 2 of them - he played the guitar and she sang! Anyway... back to the present time...

They sang all my favorite songs! No Shawna & Megan... she did not dance like a spider! ; ) She did show us one of her moves... here is Rusty trying to do it... or I think that is what he is doing. : )

They sang a few songs from their new album!! You gotta get it! Seriously! I want to see you standing in line behind Sarah & I @ Walmart on July 22!!! ; )

I really need to point this out... you see Jennifer's hair (below)? Now take a look at my header picture at the top of my blog. We have the same hair!!! Now take a look at her shirt... and mine... we wore the same color yesterday! Yeah, that's right! We go way back! She called me and asked where I got my hair done so she could get the same look! Except I have this crazy cow-lick and can't have bangs like her. Yesterday she called and said "Hey Lynn. What are you wearing to my concert?" Hmmm... I think I am going to wear my blue tank-top with a... Our cell phones lost reception at this point because she didn't hear me say w/ a white tank top underneath... she thought I said... my pink one! I'm just saying... we go way back! ; )

We were actually pretty close to the stage. We had VIP seating... not so sure how VIP we were. We did get our own drink tent and real bathrooms!! Oh, and we were able to walk right up to the stage and take pictures! Sarah & I get up there and guess what... my low battery light comes on my camera! Seriously! The luck I have with my camera!

Thank you so much Sarah for thinking of us and asking us to go to this concert with you!! I had a blast... and I think Jesse even enjoyed his time. : )

Whooohoooo!

Jesse has been offered a job!!!! He has accepted it!!!!

He will be a psychologist at medium level security prison! He hasn't worked out all the details of the start date... but he has to finish up his internship which goes until the last week of August.

This new job is about 3.5 hours (North) from where we currently live... so another move is in the works for us. We'll be looking for housing options... hopefully we'll be able to find something in the 2 short months we have left!!

This past weekend we checked out the city where this prison is. It is super tiny!! They only have one 4-way stop!! No stop lights! One tiny grocery store! A gas station! A really cute boutique on main street!! A&W!! Oh and I did see a fitness center! I think that is about it! It was a really cute place and we felt like we could live there without a problem! : )

Sidewalk Chalk & Go-Carts!

For father's day weekend my Grandpa Earl invites his kids (and their families) to come stay at his place. Now... he has 11 children!! So it can be like a campground in his yard!! : ) I haven't been able to go in about 4 or 5 years so I was really excited to go this year! Part of the fun was 'tagging' their drive with our artwork...

riding 4-wheeler...
sitting on the dock watching Elly stick her hands in the water...
This is my little brother and his girlfriend... thought the picture was cute!

On Sunday we went to Jesse's parents house and his Dad was in the process of taking out their sidewalk... so he put his boys to work!
Jesse is on the yellow one
Jerry is on the blue
Their cousin Jason is off to the right along w/ his son Pike

The blonde Freys!!! : )
Jesse's Dad received a tree for father's day.
In true Frey fashion - digging a hole for the tree...
Yup, that big of a machine - for that tiny tree.
Jesse & Jerry squeezed into a go-cart!
Yes - you can even get a go-cart stuck!
Jesse and Pike are stuck on this dirt pile.
They did this about a 100 times!!

The interview on Friday went well, but we're not sure if it is the best match for our needs. We have another interview on Thursday and we both took Thursday & Friday off... because it is 3 hours from our place, but only 30 minutes from our parents. I needed any excuse for a few days away from work. ; )

Enjoy the rest of your week!!

Sunsets & Interviews

Monday night we saw the most amazing sunset!! I grabbed the camera quick and tried to capture it. I know the camera doesn't do it justice... but take a look at this!
Jesse also has 2 interviews within the next couple of weeks!! The one we are most excited about is this Friday night!! It is a dinner interview with the both of us! If you are thinking about us around 7pm central time... say a little pray that we are eating with our best manners and not saying anything off the wall! : )

Hello June!!!

Ah! We are finally getting into the summer months! I had a friend ask me yesterday if it was starting to get warm by us? This is what I told her "Friend! I finally took the flannel sheets off... TODAY!!" So yes it is starting to get warm over here in the 'frozen tundra'. I have been walking around with the burnt raccoon face look all last week... and I did it again today. Don't you know that is the new summer look?! Put a pair of your favorite sunglasses on and bake in the sunshine. LOL.

Not a whole lot has happened since my last post. I had a successful trip back to Oregon and hired a great secretary! So far she is everything I could have asked for and more!!

Being the person in charge of the interview - is so stressful! I love that my boss lets me do this, but man do I stress myself out. I feel like this time around I did a far better job of getting a feel for the person during the interview. Even though I am sure everyone is on their best behavior for interviews. I definitely have the odd interviewers. I had one gal practically beg me to hire her. She wouldn't leave! It was very awkward. I had 4 gals not even show up! Last time I only had one person not show up... but 4 this time! WOW! I have the nervous laughter interviewers. Those are extremely funny. I almost have a hard time not laughing with them. Why do they have to nervous laugh so loudly?!

Jesse is starting to apply for his post-doc. He has put in 2 applications... one within the prison system and one with a VA hospital. Now that Jesse has put a few applications out there we are both getting extremely excited to see where we will be going next. We have done this waiting process many times before so I should be good with it... but I am not. I just want to know already. : ) Time will tell.

I think that is everything for now. Sorry this one is short and no pictures.
Hope you all are enjoying your summer!!!
