Redgranite

Lately the topic on the top of our list has been... what happens after internship? There are many openings where Jesse currently is (Wis. Dept. of Corrections). The opening are scattered through out Wisconsin. This week he learned about a new opening in Redgranite, Wisconsin. We decided to take a Sunday drive and check out the area...as it could be one of his possibilities. Here are a few pictures of the area.

Welcome to Redgranite!
Population 1040!!!
When we arrived in Redgranite we were greeted by snowmobiles. Tons of snowmobile trails!! At the gas station there are 2 big trucks with 4-wheelers in the back. I looked at Jesse and said "I think we just arrived to a 'Jesse town'."

Our first stop was to check out where he would be working.
Here is a picture of the Redgranite Correctional Institution.
Why does the sun not shine over this place? All my other pictures are very sunny.
Maybe it is because I am taking it out of the back window which is tinted???

We drove around to see what kind of housing options there would be for us.
Lots of country! We loved how they don't plow the roads very well.

We found this spot for sale and drove up to look around. Behind these trees
were 2 horses and they took off running and then a dog starting barking.
We didn't stay long. No house that we could see, just land.

Turkeys.

Jesse thought this hill was unusual because you don't see
a lot of hills here.

A perfect Wisconsin day.

The local grocery store. A teeny-tiny Piggly Wiggly.

Our other options for job placements are to stay where we are (Green Bay... but live in Appleton), Chippewa Falls (where Lynn went to college), Stanley (which is real close to our family), and then this Redgranite. (There might be more positions then the ones I mentioned, but these are just the ones that Jesse has told me about.) Jesse can not apply for the positions until May (I think). We just hope that they don't fill the positions in the mean time and that we have a good chance of getting placed.

FreyMoto

As most of you know, Jesse started an online business when we moved to Oregon. He called the business... West Coast Cycle. Much to our surprise the business has been working out for the both of us and when we moved Jesse no longer wanted it called West Coast Cycle for obvious reasons... we were no longer on the West Coast. : )

After we arrived in our new location (The Midwest) Jesse was quick to think up a new name and get it changed ASAP. He came up with FreyMoto Industries.

He also wanted a new website... what Jesse wants, Jesse gets. : ) Last night he was finally able to launch his new website, FreyMoto.

April Showers bring...

Hold it! It is January, not April. It has been raining the past 2 days and almost all of the snow has melted. The hard part is knowing that this is not spring. As much as I am ready to bust out the summer clothes... I can't. Here are some pictures that I caught today of the rain.

Here is another oil painting that I did. I am not real sure on how to take pictures of paintings. This is my attempt in giving it a little bit of sass.

What is it??

Saturday was laundry day for me. I am sorting out the clothes and come across this shirt in our basket. Hmm... not mine.... Jesse's.

What the heck happened to it!!!? It use to be a solid white cotton shirt from the Gap and now it looks like a bottle of red paint exploded on him!! How come I don't remember seeing him with this shirt on looking like this? When was the last time he wore this? Did he get hurt and I had no idea? Did he want to learn how to Tye dye his clothes and this is just the beginning stages?

So, I go right to the source... Jesse, what happened to your shirt? He has no idea!!! Surprise! He seriously doesn't even have a clue what happened. Then he says... Well, we did have people here this past weekend maybe they put it in our laundry basket. Seriously!?!!? No, I don't think anyone planted this shirt in our laundry basket. Nor did anyone wear your shirt while they were here. Sometimes he cracks me up and I can't help but laugh really hard!!

So, I recall Jesse telling me earlier in the week that he had a bag of clothes that were wet from when he went snowmobiling at Christmas!!! (Why he waited a week to bring this bag of wet clothes to my attention... I will never know.) So I am thinking that this shirt was in there and this is mold??! Totally gross! But, the shirt didn't feel wet and didn't smell. And the entire shirt looks like this. Front & Back. Some spots are lighter then others.

I had thought Jesse washed those wet snowmobiling clothes because I found clothes in the dryer... which I assumed were from the bag. Apparently he didn't want to mix this white shirt with the other colored clothes that he was wearing.

Well, I tried to wash it... doesn't come out! This picture is actually after I washed it... looked the exact same before I washed. Looks like it will be finding its way to the garbage can!

Digital Scrapbooking

I just tried my hand at a little 'digital scrapbooking'! So fun!!!!
I really enjoy scrapbooking but I hate dragging all my stuff out and then having to put it all away because we need to eat at the table! If only I could be one of those 'living room eaters' but I just can't do it. : )
I think I might be onto something by doing this all digitally... no clean up! Just shut the computer down!! How cool is that!!?!
And I didn't pay a thing for all the fun paper, embellishments, stickers... just google free digital scrapbooking and let the downloading begin! I am sure I'll get sick of the free stuff... but until then...
Now I realize that this first page I did is totally simple but you just wait... I just got my feet wet!

The Christmas Hustle & Bustle

Happy New Year!!
Sit down and hold on tight because I have lots of pictures and stories coming at you...

My little niece, Ellyn, had her first ever Christmas concert!! I took off of work and drove the 2.5 hours for a 12 minute performance! It was the cutest thing ever!!! I would totally do it again.

Elly is in the center with the pink polka-dot dress!
We can't call it a year until we have a bonfire out at the woods. Here are some pictures from that. It was a perfect night! Lots of fresh snow and not too cold!

It had snowed so much that night!!! I think I heard at least 10". To make matters worse it got really windy... 40mph winds! About 9am we got a call from Jesse's brother that he was stuck in his drive way and needed Jesse to go get his Dad's truck and come pull him out! Jesse went to do that and then had to come and plow my parents driveway because we couldn't get out!

Here are pictures of Jesse plowing my parents yard...

Christmas Eve!!

Jesse's parents have a pond and the little cousins love sledding down the banks onto the pond. But they couldn't get to it because of all the snow we just got. They decided to plow a path to the pond with the tractor. Jesse and I took our truck and we were going to watch them. Sounds like fun, huh?! We did not watch! Jesse decided to see just how much snow his truck could handle! We went off into the field and pretty soon we needed to be pulled out! We were stuck!!

I giggle when Jesse gets stuck... and it is not a time to giggle. I took pictures this time too!
(Scott Munger, here are pictures of Jesse getting pulled out!!!)

After the adventures in the snow we had to head to a few family gatherings.

It seems that every year my cousin Megan & I have to crawl under the tree and get our pictures taken. My other cousin, Shawna, never saw us do this before so she crawled under there with us.

Christmas Day! A few more family gatherings, more snow, getting stuck and another bonfire.

At the top of the hill... getting ready to go down.

A view from the bottom of the hill.

This would be Jesse's Uncle Denny stuck!! How many Freys can get stuck in 3 days?!!?

This is Danielle and her daughter Phoebe! CUTE! (More Freys)

Sisters!
Ellyn thinks that Steph (my soon to be sister-in-law) is my sister!

New Years Eve! Jason, Lacy, Jerry and Steph came over to our apartment to have a little New Years Celebration!! The guys went and bought Guitar Hero for the PS2 so that we would have something to do. I can honestly say... It is soooooo much fun! I loved it!! I always thought I should have been a guitar player! : )

Our last picture of the year!!
