The Pencil Test

Have you ever heard of this test before? You take a sharped pencil, stick a needle in the eraser and thread it with thread. You dangle the pencil (by the thread) over the inside of your wrist... and it will tell you how many children you will have and what their gender will be!! Pretty fun, eh?!!

If the pencil swings back & forth (wrist to elbow) it will be a girl. Swinging side to side means a boy.

So, you hold the pencil (by the thread) with a steady hand over your wrist. The pencil will start to circle and then it will give you a child... it will do this until you have all your children and then it will stop. It will also circle in between child.

We were at a friends house last night and they did this little test on both Jesse and I. I went first and I was told I was going to have 1 girl and 1 boy!!! Jesse did it... 1 girl and 1 boy!!! I was a little nervous that we wouldn't match... but we did!

So our future holds... A little Lynn and a little Jesse!

PS... no there are not little ones in our very near future! Just a little trick for you all to try out the next time you get bored. : )

Little Brothers

I was just informed this past week that my little brother, Adam, has a girlfriend.... for the past 3 weeks!!! I haven't been home in 4 weeks. I was so far out of the loop on this one.

He said that she had to work on Easter but after she was done she was going to come to our Easter!! I got to Easter and I kept teasing Adam... is it time yet? Don't you need to go get her? You're going to be late! He kept telling me his car was stuck in the snow, and that he couldn't go get her. I thought he was just joking, but he wasn't he was really stuck. I told him that I would push him out!! My cousin Megan said she would help me! We both wanted to meet his girlfriend.

It came time for him to leave and for Megan and I to push him out. The rest of the family thought this would be so funny to watch Megan and I push Adam out... they didn't think we could do it...

Group Huddle... Megan is telling Adam that we will give him $5 if he helps us!
Adam is yelling "I am seriously stuck!"

Pushing....

Let's try from the front... Adam you could help us by getting in the car!!

And he is out!!!! We totally did it!!

The tough uncles didn't want us to show them up...

We did get to meet his girlfriend, Sara. She was a very sweet girl!

The rest of our Easter was very good. The girls perfected their eyebrows and the guys compared bald spots... my family really needs to find better things to do. But we have oh-so much fun.

Perkinstown Hill

Last weekend we went to Perkinstown Hill to go tubing! Jesse and I both use to come to this hill when we were little. When Jesse came here as a kid he had a bit of a run-in with the tube and ended up getting 2 stitches in his forehead and the scar to still prove it.

Here is the hill!!
The 4 single lanes on the right is where you go down by yourself.
On the left and the far right you can make chains
and go down with up to 6 people!!

The waiting line to go up. You can either take the stairs or take the
tow rope. The stairs had no waiting... but the tow rope did. I think
we only took the stairs about 3 times. Not fun!

Every time I would get to the top of the hill I would find
the rest of our group sitting down on their tubes taking a break.
Jesse, Adam, Kyle, Dave, Mary, Roger, and a hill worker.
I have a story about this hill worker (in the yellow.) Jesse's Mom (Mary), Jesse's cousin (Danielle) and myself were going to go down the hill in a chain. Mary wanted to be first, I was in the middle and Danielle was at the end. The hill worker grabs Mary's feet and starts to pull us down the hill but then stops and makes Danielle go down first... backwards!!! So now the three of us are going down the hill backwards! Mary lost her tube at the top of the hill and now she is sliding all the way down on her butt!!! Poor girl!! She was okay and we all started laughing so hard! We seen a few other people in our party and Mary would say, "You see me lose my tube?" And they would respond, "Oh that was you!!" It seems that everyone seen it happen, but did not know that it was us!! Probably because all three of us were screaming and laughing so hard! Too funny!!

The other night I was talking to a friend who currently lives in Reno. We were talking about the snow and she was telling me that it will snow but then in a few days it will all melt. HA! Melt! So, I took some pictures the other weekend as we were heading out to go back to our parents. Just to show you non-snow people just how much snow we actually have!

This is our apartment building.

The building on the right is our garage and this is the farm behind us.

This morning I flipped my calendar over to March and I noticed... We get to 'spring ahead' next weekend!!! Yay!! That has to mean that Spring is coming, right?!
