Special Delivery

We put in an underground fence for Maggie a couple weekends ago.  It has been my saving grace – she can be outside all day long and I have peace and quiet finally!!  Before I could never let her outside without supervision because she would chase down small animals and greet all the neighbors in a very aggressive, but friendly, matter.

At first it was the hole digging when we let her out.  *knock on wood* That hasn’t happened in a couple days.  We seriously had a trench in our front yard… I mean a trench big enough that a small child could use it as an underground secret highway!!

Today a new problem was brought to our attention when we went to get our mail.

I guess the mailman wants his peace and quiet back… and I better give it to him if I want to keep getting my mail delivered and my packages picked up.

Fall is Here!

We went out to the woods to see my family and watch the Packer game.  My little brother just got a ‘new’ truck a few weeks ago and was itching to take us for a ride around the woods.  So Jesse and I hopped in and he took us around.  I haven’t been around the woods in a long time.

IMG_6611

The trail around the woods is a big loop with little trails shooting off the main one.  (My cousin Jody and I named all the trails too.  At the time everyone had a trail – except now the family is way too big and we ran out of trails.  We were even bigger geeks and drew a map of the trails and their names!)  This trail here is called Hemmer Highway… and I do believe all these woodchips are covering up Martha’s Mudhole.  The center of the woods is called Fran’s Forest.  One year when we were little, we thought we would be really cool and cut across Fran’s Forest and get to the other side of Hemmer Highway.  It was winter and there was snow.  And we are directionally challenged… and we didn’t walk in a straight line.  I bet now I could do it with all my Man vs. Wild shows under my belt!

IMG_6614

In this picture Adam is yelling at me to stop taking pictures!  Then he goes… want to see my school snacks.  He opens up his center counsel and it is filled with junk food!!  I started laughing and then proceeded to be the big sister and give him a lecture about eating real food and no wonder why you already gained your ‘freshman 15’ in three weeks!!  He loves his older sisters!!

Mallory hung out in the shack with Grandma while we went around the woods.

IMG_6624

Cousin Ava was out there too!  Here are Ms. Mallory and Ava!!  They are roughly two months apart.

IMG_6629

Ava wants to know who the heck is sitting next to her.

IMG_6631

Pretty sure Ava is not impressed with Mallory’s bow on her head.  Or maybe she wants Cousin Mallory to get her one for Christmas so they can match!  : )

IMG_6634

Here are the girls watching the game with the guys!

IMG_6635When your Mom is a photographer… of course I steal her away from the game to take a couple pictures of us.

Wasn’t me!

The other afternoon I was on my way back to work after lunch and when I walked by the front door I seen Maggie outside with dirt on her nose and a hole in the yard.  Hmm.  So I stepped outside and she just looked at me like, What’s your problem? What you lookin at?

She has been digging this hole for days!  Each night Jesse fills the hole back in and tells her she is naughty!  (Did I tell you I am trying to teach Mallory to say “Naughty Maggie”.)

I came back outside with the camera and she would not look at me.  I kept saying, Maggie.  What were you doing?  Maggie look at me.  Maggie.  Were you digging holes?

  IMG_6591

I walk over to a different angle – she looks the other way.  Maggie.  I can see the dirt on your nose!  You can’t hide it from me!

IMG_6593

Here is her mighty hole.

IMG_6594

What hole?  I don’t dig holes.  You see dirt on my nose?  Impossible!  Must of been the neighbors little yippy dogs that did it.  Wasn’t me.  I’m the golden child, remember?

IMG_6592

Well lets just say… Jesse 1 – Maggie 0.  Jesse buried a little something special in that hole (aka… Maggie droppings) and she hasn’t dug in it since!

Three Months!

I better get her three month statics and video on here before she is four months in a few days!  These months just fly by!!

Three months…

~ Sleeping in her own room!  I took the plunge and moved her to her own room.  She is a very noisy sleeper – she grunts a lot – and I was not getting a good nights sleep so I decided it was time to move her to her own room.

~ Cries real tears now!

~ She holds her head when she gets frustrated.  She also has to hold her head or put her hands over her face when she eats.  That makes feeding her really hard because her hands are always in the way.  If I pull her hands away she just puts them right back.

~ She can play the frog on her floor mat.  She has to pull it to make it play music and she does it all the time now.  She is getting a lot more control over those hands/arm.

~ She loves naps!  This girl loves to sleep like me!  : )  She takes lots of naps in the morning (not too many in the afternoon).  When I go to lay her down in her crib for her morning nap she gives me a big smile.  When I put the blanket on her she gives me another big smile and then turns her head and she is out!

~ She might already be a mommy’s girl.  She had a phase where she cried when Jesse had her.  As soon as she would get back to me she would stop!  Instantly she would stop!  We had a long chat with her and now she is better.  ; )

~ She has found Maggie and loves to watch crazy Maggie run all over the house.  It keeps her entertained.

~ We joined a Moms & Munchkins group!  It meets once a month.  We went this month (our first time) and they had a nursery and I thought you were suppose to put your baby in the nursery – so off I went to put her in the nursery and I was shaking!!  I was nervous!  Then I come back to the Moms and there were Moms with their babies!!  You could keep them!!  I had no idea!!  I felt kind of stupid- I think Mally was the youngest one in the nursery and they had their hands full with all the bigger babies!!  BUT - They told me when I went to get her… she was the best baby in there!!  Aww!

Vacation Day

I have a vacation day today.  This is my first vacation day since I went back to work.  I have been working a lot of late nights (until 7pm) and have to work late 2 nights next week… so I thought it was high time I get a day off.  I had these great plans of decorating the new bathroom, preparing/freezing all the produce I have, getting a haircut, going for a walk in the sunshine…

I am awaken at 5am to Jesse’s alarm clock.  I think it is my alarm so I sit up and I hear Maggie’s collar cling.  What?  Jesse let Maggie in my room after he left for work?  He never does that.  Then I look over and see he left the bedroom door open – that’s how Maggie got in here.  All of sudden Jesse says… That’s my alarm!  OH!  Jesse is still here!  I never even saw him!!

Jesse gets up and not ten minutes later I am awaken from my dream… which was fantastic because I was in the middle of a dream where some stole Mallory and I was having a breakdown… Jesse comes in and says… Maggie crapped all over the floor!!  WHAT?  REALLY?  YOU’RE KIDDING ME?  I’m about ready to get out of bed and survey and help him, but he says… I’m not going to have you clean it up, I’ll clean it up.  Thank goodness – I gag and puke at the sight of that stuff!

We have no idea why Maggie did this last night.  She never once whined at us in the middle of the night to let her out.  She has never ever done this before!

A few minutes later Jesse comes back in and says – I took the day off of work.  I’m going to have to rent a carpet cleaner to take care of this.

He says to me that when he got up he could see something on the floor and we went… what the hell is that?  He turns on the light.  And he says “Did something get in here last night?”  His comment which totally cracks me up… Did a frickin cow get in here and shit all over the floor?!  (Oh I giggle every time I read that!)

I seriously had to ask him… what do you mean by “all over”.  And folks, it was all over!!  I’m telling you!!  He seriously brought the shovel in the house!!!  I went and took a shower – I wasn’t sticking around for that.  By the time I got out of the shower, he had the spot cleaner on it and the carpet cleaner machine over it and the mess was gone instantly!!!!  Whew!

The good news is I get my carpets cleaned, which we have wanted to do for a while!

Now I’m off to really enjoy this vacation day!!  I may even have a sit down chat with Jesse tonight and let him know that I really like pets when they have to stay outside!  ; )

Ragamuffin

My little niece, Elly, is the queen of the ragamuffins!  She doesn’t care what she wears or what her hair looks like.  By the end of the day El’s hair is falling out of her ponytail/braids and is hanging in her face and she doesn’t even notice.  She is too cute!  I hope she stays that way!!

This morning as I got Mally dressed it was a little chilly so I put a mixture of clothes on her – not really thinking clearly.  When I sat back and looked at her I full on giggled!  What a ragamuffin!!

IMG_6574Stripped leggings, animal print, and flowers!!  But she is too cute!!

IMG_6575She also decided that a 30 minute nap this morning would be okay.  Not okay – she gets cranky if she doesn’t get her naps!

IMG_6577These leggings are going to be my new favorite!  Especially come fall and winter.

IMG_6579

I think it is back to bed for this ragamuffin!

Sunday

Did you ever hear the country song – That’s what I love about Sundays.  This Sunday was one of those for us.  Relaxing.  Nice weather.  BLTs for Lunch.  Ended with a Packer game at the neighbors.

Jesse was washing the vehicles in the back yard so I took Mally, a blanket, toys, and the camera and laid outside in the shade.

Here are some of the pictures I took.

Mally can’t wait for her first Jeep ride!  : )IMG_6542 IMG_6544 IMG_6547

The leaves are changing and falling already.

IMG_6556 On Friday I went and picked out new toys from her room and she is starting to hold onto them.IMG_6553Maggie slowly inched her way onto our blanket.  Except she decided to hide under the Jeep first and get wet!

IMG_6562  IMG_6563 If I look real sad and pathetic maybe they will let me on.

IMG_6564Or maybe if I pretend like there is a bug on their blanket that I must get… they won’t notice.

IMG_6567

Okay fine – I’ll just chew on my firewood.

IMG_6573

I tried to take some pictures of Mally and I.  It starts out all happy and fun.IMG_6571 Still happy & playing…IMG_6568

I think she had enough.

IMG_6570

Priceless!

Bubbles

The following pictures will explain why I think we should call her bubbles…

IMG_6530Did you check out her killer eyelashes!!  They almost touch her eyebrows!  My cousins want to put mascara on them!

IMG_6531 IMG_6532

This is just for fun to see who we think she looks like.  The picture with her and I makes me want to cry – she looks so big!

IMG_6533

IMG_6534

I don’t see either of us.  Maybe if we had some spit bubbles.

Moby

I found my new favorite baby item!  The Moby Wrap!  Love it!

When I saw my friend, Lacy, this week she forced the Moby wrap on me.  : )  She told me I was going to love.  I kept telling her- I have other carriers that I use that I like.  She refused to listen and said try this one – it is better.  Except she never showed me how to use it!!  We got distracted – which is no surprise!

I came home and googled it and watched a how-to video and instantly fell in love before I even got to try it out.  I knew I was going to love it.

We went to the Mall of America this weekend with Jesse’s family and I really got to try it out and the verdict is… how did I go the last three months without it!!?  Love, love, love it!  Seriously!  My other carriers – kick em to the curb!  ; )

Mallory even loves it.  I face her forward and she just coos and drools like there is no tomorrow!  She stopped people everyone in that mall yesterday.  When she would get sleepy or tired of holding her head up – I would flip her around and she would just snuggle in and watch the people.

It might look really complicated, but it is so easy!  And even easier to get Mallory in and out of.  Here she is right now… snoozing away!

Shelly

IMG_6498This is our beloved little Shelly.  Miss Mallory just loves Shelly.  Okay, maybe she just likes to chew and drool on poor Shelly.

IMG_6500IMG_6507 Every once in a while Shelly is missing!  But we know exactly where to look for her.  Where’s Maggie?  Hmm… I bet Maggie took Shelly.  Sure enough – Maggie had Shelly.

IMG_6501 Between the two of them poor little Shelly won’t have this bright color and fresh fuzzyness for long!
