One Month Left!

Yesterday was the 29th – I’m due on April 29th!  I have one month left!  Ahhh!  This is so exciting yet puts me in a panic.  : )  I feel like my list is not complete yet – but he does have clothes, blankets, and a place to sleep… so technically he can come.  It is just those finishing touches like actually getting the clothes in the dresser that would make me feel more ready.

I finished painting the kids room on Sunday.  Of course Mallory had to assist me.  She loves painting – hm, wonder where she got that from?  : )  She has to have a paintbrush and a little paint tray.

IMG_0008

I’m sure there are some of you out there that are cringing that I let her pretend to paint on freshly brand new painted walls – but it kept her occupied for a really long time!  And sometimes that is all that matters.  : )

Yes, I’m busting out of my clothes.  It drives Mallory crazy!  When my belly is sticking out she comes right over and says “Momma!  Momma pull shirt down!” and yanks on my shirt and covers my belly.

IMG_0011

I don’t remember busting out of my shirts with Mally – however I don’t believe I carried her as low as this little guy is.  I know she never kicked me in my hips before and he is constantly kicking (or punching I guess – his kicks are in my ribs) my hips.  It is the strangest feeling!

IMG_0013

Jesse decided he was going to get the snowmobile out and take Mally for a ride.  We didn’t tell her that was our plan.  He just went outside and started it and she took off running out of the room and starting looking for him out the window yelling about “nomobile”.  I got her all dressed up and took her out and then thought I should get a picture of them out there.

IMG_0014

Except Jesse needed to put oil in it and I was out there waiting and waiting and waiting and by the time he was finally ready she wasn’t going.  She was coming back inside with me.  If I would of only just not needed that picture and took it from the window where she couldn’t see me.  Next time.

IMG_0015

Mally and Maggie are still little buddies.  She yells “MAGGIE” all the time.  Yesterday we were outside and it was actually pretty nice out.  We got out the sidewalk chalk and colored and then threw snowballs for Maggie to eat.  Mally would giggle and giggle every time Maggie would eat our snowballs.  It didn’t get old for either of them.  Mally kept throwing and Maggie kept eating.

Here is the finished wall.

IMG_0017

I can’t take all the credit for this adorable room.  My Mom helped me pick out the color and she actually painted the wall and drew on the circles and animals – I just painted the animals.

IMG_0018

While I was taking pictures of the wall – Daddy and Mally were reading bible stories.

IMG_0019

Usually while I am painting Daddy and Mally bond over youtube and watch Jeep videos.  She loves it!  And so does Jesse!  : )  Mally sits on his lap and they both just watch video after video of Jeeps.  I’ll hear Mally say “big hill” or “stuck in mud” or “clapping”.  I guess the people in the video clap when they get un-stuck.  She is starting to turn into a Daddy’s little girl!

Now – maybe I should go re-organize Mally’s dresser and see if I can get rid of any clothes and make some room for Baby Boy’s clothes.  For Mally’s first year I seriously have like 7 totes of clothes (all from my sister) and for Baby Boy she brought over 1 tote and it is for newborn to 12 months.  I laughed pretty hard!  Guess you don’t need as many clothes for boys as you do girls!  : )

Eve Time Out!

Mally has been doing excellent with her new bed.  She now stays in it when she wakes up.  She just lays in there and sniffs her blanket or reads a book.  She doesn’t cry when she wakes up!  Yahoo!!!

With her new bed we started a new routine where we read her a bible story in bed.  She loves it!

This morning she woke up and I went to get her and she wanted to read another bible story.  So we sat in her bed and read the story of Adam & Eve.  Eve ate the fruit that God told her not to.  We finish the story and I’m getting her dressed and she says, “Eve eat fruit.”  I say, “Yes Eve ate the fruit.  She wasn’t suppose to eat it.”  Mally says, “Eve naughty.  Time out.”

I just had to share that cute story and now I must go figure out how to get this dumb dog back inside.  The dog wanted to go outside and I said, fine go and let her out in the garage where she can go thru her dog door to the backyard.  Now, we are having huge ice, snow, wind storms.  I told the dog she wasn’t going to like it out there but she insisted on going.  Now, she is barking to be let back in and I can’t get any of the back doors open because they are iced over.  I’ve tried sticking my head out the dog door and yelling, whistling, clapping… she apparently can’t hear me.  Ugh.  Stupid dogs.

And now Mally is telling me there is “mouse hair” and she is looking in her bowl of cereal.  Really?  Mouse hair in your cereal?  Where does she come up with this stuff?

Picture Download

Hold on this is going to be a wild one.  I am so far behind on my posts and in an effort to get caught up I’m posting everything in one.

Valentine’s Day (Yup, I’m that far behind).  Jesse came home with two roses – One for his baby girl and one for me.  The flower place even took all the thorns off Mallory’s so she could run around with it.

IMG_9946

A few days later we left for Indiana.  Jesse was doing a trade show for his business and Mallory and I were going to stay with some good friends of ours that live there.

We drove down to Indiana – it is a long drive.  Who was the most awesome traveler?  Mallory!!  I can not tell you how proud I was of this little girl!  She was so good.  Never once did she cry.  Melt down on the way home in the KFC – sure, but not in the truck!  : )

It was so nice in Indiana.  They were having 50 – 60 degree weather while we were there!  It was fantastic!  I took the girls for a walk and let them play at the neighborhood park while Natalie baked cookies for the girls to decorate.  Mally’s first experience (since she can walk now) with a park.  She loved it.  I pretty much had to peel her fingers off the slide steps and carry her home crying.  Can’t wait for her to have more slide fun this summer at the park.

Here are the girls waiting so patiently for their cookies to decorate.

IMG_9948

IMG_9950IMG_9951

We just gave Mallory one cookie with frosting and sprinkles.  She ate the sprinkles and the frosting.

IMG_9953IMG_9954

Every morning the girls would stand here and brush their teeth and take turns letting me do their hair.  Ever since Mally got to stand on this stool and brush her teeth – she has moved her stool into the bathroom and has to brush her teeth on it every morning.

IMG_9958

My friend, Natalie, and I were both pregnant while I was there.  She was days away from having her baby… we were trying to get her to have the baby while I was still there – no luck.  She did have her baby a few days after we left – Baby Boy named Owen Matthew and he is stinkin adorable!

We attempted to get a picture of the four of us.  We were leaving early the next morning and I had just finished putting our things together and was a hot mess.  It was bed time for the girls and Miss Mallory did not want to stand by us – she wanted to sit in the Nintendo chair and talk on the phone.  I wrangled her for a quick shot and this is what we got…

IMG_0660

One of the days we went to visit Jesse at the show.  Here is his booth/display he had set up.

IMG_9961

That’s fake snow that he got off the internet.  It is powder form and you add water and it turns into snow.  The guys had a sign that said something to the effect of “don’t touch the snow”… well leave it to us to walk in it (on accident) and we were only there for a minute or two and we were destroying the booth.  And it wasn’t the girls that walked in it… it was the adults!  : )

IMG_9962

Our drive home from Indiana was a stressful one.  There was a mega snow storm going on once we hit Wisconsin.  The roads were awful and we are pulling a trailer (with precious cargo) behind us.  We saw cars in the ditch every mile it felt like.  Cars hitting the back of semis.  It was a mess.  We all made it home in one piece and our very awesome neighbors had plowed our driveway so we were able to pull right in.

Here is a picture of my future painter.  She loves to paint.  This picture was taken back when she was sick all those days.  I was trying anything and everything to entertain her.

IMG_9965

She doesn’t like to actually paint the paper.  She just likes to dip her brush over and over into the water and into the paints and watching her water change colors.

There.  I feel better being all caught up on my pictures.  I don’t print my pictures – seriously I do not have a single picture printed of Mallory – besides professional ones and I’m terrible at ordering her professional ones too.  I use this blog as my picture organizer and as my form of “printing” pictures.  Dear Internet – please don’t ever crash and destroy my blog.  Thank you.  : )

New Bed / New Room

This weekend we changed Mally’s room into the kids room.  : )

Here is a little sneak peek.

This is baby boy’s side of the room.

IMG_9998

These circles are still a work in progress.  I painted the monkey tonight and the other two circles (a bear and a turtle) will be a different night.

IMG_9996

Miss Pink is still here.  : )  This is Mally’s side of the room.  In her new bed!

IMG_9999

Adjusting to the new bed has been going okay.  She cries when we put her in it.  We close the door and she comes to check the door and then crawls back in her bed and stops crying and falls asleep.  So she doesn’t cry for more then a minute or two and then stops and falls asleep.

IMG_0001

When she wakes up she cries immediately too and runs to the door.  Hopefully she will get use to her new bed and feel more comfortable and not cry when she wakes up.

IMG_0002

She loves to pretend to go ni-night and play in her bed – just as long as she doesn’t have to stay in it.

Funny Crying

This afternoon when Mally woke up from her nap she was extremely chatty.  She talked and talked and played.  I left her in there for a long time then all of sudden she started crying.  Like a hurt/scared cry.  I go in her room to find her standing up in her crib holding onto her puppy and she is holding her other hand in the air like it is hurt.

I’m asking her what is wrong – however she is crying so hard I can’t understand.  I look at her hand and I see a booger on her hand.  I start laughing hysterically!  I tell her Mally that is just a yucky from your nose – momma get a kleenex for you.  As soon as I cleaned up her hand she immediately stopped crying and started talking about yucky nose.

Then tonight Jesse was giving her a bath and she spotted some toe-jam in the water and started asking “whats dat?” and pointing.  He told her it was dirt and removed it from the water.  Then she found another piece and started panicking again “whats dat?  whats dat?  whats dat?” and pointing.  Jesse tells her it is dirt and removes it.  A few moments later she is crying.  He tries asking her what is wrong but she is crying too hard she can’t talk.  He takes her out and she calms down.  He asks her why she cried and she said “dirt”.  Apparently there was more toe-jam in the water.  He told her the dirt won’t get her.

When Jesse was telling me about this I was laughing so hard that I had tears.  Mally was standing there while he was telling me and she says “dirt not get you”.

She’s Gone Girly!

I found this blog post and I must of wrote it over a month ago and never made it live.  I feel like I want to remember this – so I am going to post it.  The pictures are also from a month ago – I must of  had good intentions of blogging about this but got side tracked.

Yes, I dress her totally girly – but she didn’t play like a little girl.  She was more into riding bikes/trikes, digging in the dirt, picking up rocks kind of girl.

IMG_9934I have a basket full of stuffed animals and a doll or two and that basket would sit un-touched.  However, puppy is a must.  Puppy goes to bed with her and puppy even comes in the truck sometimes for our little outings.  If she is feeling sleepy or snuggly or hurt she will ask for puppy.  Otherwise – she isn’t into stuffed animals or dolls.

That all has changed the last couple of days.  She picked out a doll from the basket and started pretending and talking to the doll.  She would pretend to take the baby to bed which went something like this…

Holding baby in front of her while tipping her head.

M: Ni-Night?

Silently look at baby with her head still tipped.

M: Okay.

Run to her room with baby in tow.

M: Kish.

Give baby a kiss.  Toss baby over the crib rail.  Come running back to the living room.

M: Baby.

Me: Your baby go ni-night?

M: Yesh.

Run back to her room and run back to the living room.

M: Baby.  Help you.

Me:  Is your baby stuck?

M: Yesh.

Run back to her room and I follow her.  I get baby out of the crib.

She will also pretend to feed her baby snacks and give her drinks from the little tea cups.

IMG_9935

Today she really started pretending and being a little mommy.  She was playing with her baby running back and forth from her room to the living room.  I would look down the hallway to her room and she would be sitting in chair in her room with her baby talking away.

Then she came out and said baby was “hungee” (hungry) and tossed baby into her high chair.  We got baby some pretend snacks and the tea cup and she fed her baby.

IMG_9936

I showed her how to hold her baby and how to burp her baby… things she hasn’t seen yet because we don’t know anyone with a little baby.

She even went as far as to get a diaper and try to put the diaper on the baby.  I have a few newborn diapers left over from Mally – I went and got one and we put it on the baby.  To which Mally picked up the baby and said “potty” and ran to the bathroom with baby.  I quickly chased after her saying “NO!  Baby doesn’t need to go potty!”  I find her holding baby over the toilet!  Thankfully she didn’t drop baby in!

IMG_9939

It is kind of fun to see her take such interest in doing these sorts of things – I have never seen this side of her.  It also warms my heart and makes me feel like this might prepare her for baby brother coming.

Just two days prior to her running around with baby… she was hauling a mouse around with her.  I plastic-real looking rat type mouse from Halloween.  She had to eat lunch with this mouse – he sat right on her tray.  She even had to take this mouse to bed with her along with a tea cup in case mouse needed a drink.  Ick.

Update on our health… Last week was still pretty rough.  However, yesterday morning she woke up with yucky matted eyes and as the morning went along I could watch her eye turn more and more pink.  She still had her runny nose and cough.  I finally caved (since this was the start of week 3 of being sick) and called her Dr.  They tell me it is just a cold and to keep hanging in there.  I was starting to wonder if she didn’t have a sinus infection because she would point to her cheeks and say hurt and cry.  Nurse tells me that would be very rare for a child to have a sinus infection and she could be pointing to her cheeks in regards to the teeth that are coming in.  And as far as her eye turning pink now – she said that is all part of the cold too.  I could go in and get drops for it if she went to a daycare but she stays home so they said there was no need for that.

Other than all that we had a really good start to our week yesterday.  She was in such a better mood and played so good.  After supper when I took out of her highchair I was holding her and asking her for my snuggles and she gave me a big hug and then said “down”… that’s my girl!  She isn’t a snuggler!  : )  So for her to snuggle with me for two solid weeks – I knew something was wrong.

We have also been able to go outside the last couple of days – which she loves!  You ask her if she wants to go outside and she starts running to her room yelling “socks and shoes”.  We started going for walks again (since it has been warm – as in the 30s) and she loves to walk by herself “on da road”.  She even spotted the moon yesterday on her walk and once she spotted the moon every three steps we had to stop and point to the moon.

I think we are on end of this illness and getting back to normal.  Who knew normal could feel so good!!  Thank you all for your kind words and encouraging me!!

Belly Status–33 Weeks

IMG_9980I had my little nephew here on Friday and he got to join in on the belly picture fun!  : )

IMG_9985_crop

For the most part I am feeling good.  Yes, there are the body aches but that is all to be expected.  In February I went to stay with my friend who was just days shy from having her baby and both of us would sit on the couch at night and when we get up to go to bed the moans and groans and limps and grabbing our backs… we laughed at ourselves.  We felt like a couple of Grandmas.  We also could sit by each other and watch our bellies bounce around!  Oh and we both could indulge in the nightly snacks and have a prego friend to enjoy them with!  : )

IMG_9986

I am still having crazy bizarre dreams.  I’m having the dreams where I am dreaming about our baby boy.  One dream I had… I wake up and I’m not pregnant anymore.  I gasp!  We had the baby!?  Jesse tells me yes we had the baby.  I was like – it must of went really well because I don’t remember it at all.  Then I ask to see my baby boy.  He was HUGE!  Like… bigger then Mallory… like a full grown toddler!  I gasped again!  I went to pick him up to hold him and he could wrap his legs around my waist.  Then I went to swaddle him with paper toweling but he was too big and didn’t like it.

I’m experiencing contractions and tightening this time around.  Nothing that is of concern or too painful – all normal I’m told.

Baby boy is still very wiggly.  I don’t know what he has in there with him, but some of his movements are painful and sharp.  And then there are times where he moves so slow… I can feel him move slowly across my belly.  He is so low too – I feel like I am being kicked in the hips!  At my last appointment she told me that was a “sweet little baby head” so he must be pushing off my ribs and jamming his sweet little baby head on my hips.  : )

At first I was measuring big – but my last couple of appointments I have been measuring right on.  Weight gain has been good too.  Maybe too good.  I am starting to go to check-ups every two weeks and at one of my weigh-ins I thought I had gained 7 pounds in two weeks.  I freaked out and said “Did I just gain 7 pounds in two weeks!!!?”  My nurse looked and said, oh no – just 2 pounds.  Whew!  That was scary!  I have already mentioned to Jesse that I might be interested in a personal trainer after this one.  : )

When Garrett comes to play at my house he has to ride pink bikes and play with bracelets.

IMG_9990

Garrett would ride the bike and Mallory would follow behind him on her horse.

Melty

When my sister’s kids are fussy, whiny, having a hard day – she says they are “melty”.

Mallory. Is. Melty!

I think I have reached the hardest month of my parenting job.  I’ve had hard work jobs before – but this being a mom and not getting to punch out at 5 and go home… has been extremely hard this month on me.

We start out with teeth – she was working on her eye teeth.  Then she started getting sick.  Now she is still sick with a runny nose, gross diapers, and I believe her teeth are still bugging her.  They are not fully in – I can see them peeking out.  She is just not herself.  She isn’t sleeping like usual – waking up earlier and naps are short.  She isn’t eating like usual.  She isn’t playing like usual.  She is extremely sensitive.  She is just not herself.

I hear a lot of “momma hold you.”  “momma yap. (lap)”  “snuggle.”  “stuffy.”  “momma.”  “momma.”  “momma.”  “momma carry you.”

I can’t be out of her eyesight.  She follows me around melting.  : )

This week I decided I was going to go at it with a positive attitude.  I was going to switch things up.  Yesterday, I got out the paints and we did an art project.  It didn’t work.  She enjoyed it for a moment and then melting happened.

Today I saw that it was in the 30s and dressed her up and took her outside before lunch.  We made a little miniature snowman.  Talked to the neighbor.  And went for a walk where she got to “walk on da road” and see “big trucks”.  I took her for a long walk – no stroller, she walked/ran.  She loved it.  She wouldn’t turn around – but she didn’t realize we had to walk all the way back home.  : )  I finally got her to go home by telling her daddy was coming home for lunch and we needed to go see him.  All that fresh air and exercise I thought for sure I was going to get the best nap out of her!

Lunch time came – she was melty and didn’t eat much.  I tucked her into bed, skipped out of the room, and went right for the coffee!  Nap time!  Oh sweet nap time!  I love nap times lately!

Not even 5 sips later and only a few of my work tasks done… someone is awake already.  Someone is waking up crying.  A rule of mine is you can’t wake up crying.  You have to wake up happy.  If you wake up crying I don’t get you until you are happy.  I let her cry.  I kept working on my tasks.  I let her cry.  She cried.  “momma.”  I went to peek on her to make sure that she was really okay and that she was just being melty.  She was fine – she couldn’t see me peeking threw the door jam.  She cried.  She sounded so tired.  I finally caved – I couldn’t take anymore crying.

I walk in and she sees me.  “momma.”  I pick her up and she snuggles in and I tell her nap time is not over.  She cries.  I sit in her chair with her on my lap.  She sits there sniffing her blanket (she smells the corner of her blanket – it’s a comfort thing for her) and looks at me.  Then she starts playing Violet (the talking/singing dog) and says “sing songs”.  We sit there.  I don’t talk.  I just breathe.  I start crying.  How can this sweet adorable little girl cause me to be so frustrated?  Mally looks at me and sees tears and wipes my tears and gives me her blanket and says “sniff”.  : )  I cry harder!  LOL!

Nap time was officially over and we went about the rest of our day.

I’m a tough kid.  I’m going to get past this.  I’ll be stronger on the other side.  But my goodness!  I’m ready for that other side!  : )  I just need to vent and whine and be melty to you all.  It is like detoxing and getting it all out… I can now finish the rest of this week with my melty child.

The good news from all this is that I am so emotionally drained that I am sleeping like a rock!  : )

Next Week Please!

*warning – bodily functions*

It started out on Saturday afternoon.  Jesse said the words “I think I am getting sick.  I’m going to take a nap.”  Now this is a big deal.  He doesn’t stop for nothing and for him to actually have to stop and take a nap… not good.

Saturday night we had a wedding that we attended and Mallory had so much fun running around with her cousins Ellyn & Garrett.  However, at 8pm she came and curled up on my lap and snuggled.  A few moments later she said “go bu-bye”.  She was done.  Which shocked me – I thought I was going to have to take her kicking and screaming because she was having so much fun running all over that dance floor and hugging onto Miss Elly’s legs with her little hands on Miss Elly’s butt dancing.  (Forgot my camera – but it was adorable you’ll have to trust me.)

Shortly after that my vision started swirling and I was on the verge of a vascular migraine followed by a headache.  We left.

Sunday we still got up and went to church.  I could feel it in my chest.  A cold was setting in.  Jesse was feeling worse as well.  We booked it home from church where I sat in the backseat and refused to let Mallory take a nap in the car.  We all needed naps – at home.  (We have an hour drive home from church.)

By Sunday night Jesse is sitting in front of the space heater with a blanket… having fevers!!  He is sick.

Monday I woke up with my cold worse and a headache and just feeling yucky.  Jesse is still running fevers and exhausted.  He sets up camp in the basement in the spare room.  Mallory seems to be fussy and kind of needy and her diapers!  Don’t even let me tell you about the diapers!!  I look in her mouth – sure enough!  Those blasted eye-teeth are finally coming in on the top!

Long story short… Jesse doesn’t get better until late Wednesday!  Mallory wakes up on Wednesday morning and I go get her and find her… well… I don’t know how else to put this nicely… covered in puke!  I hear her in bed chattering away and when I open her door and see her sitting in the middle of her crib and she sees me she says “whats dat” and points.  I look.  OH NO!  I have no idea when she threw up – but you could tell it was earlier in the night.  I have no idea how she slept in her bed like that and never once cried for me to come get her.  Even when she woke up in the morning she never cried!  Tough kid!  I felt horrible for not knowing she was like this in there!

We get her all cleaned up and think… there is nothing wrong with this kid.  She hasn’t stopped talking for 3 seconds since we got her up.  She is acting like everything is fine.  However, she doesn’t want to eat – just wants juice.  A couple hours later she is asking for a pancake.  I give her a little piece of one to nipple on and she was sitting on my lap and lost it.  I thought it was because she was coughing and she just coughed to hard.  She was still acting fine and seemed to be in good happy spirits.  Until lunch… and she lost her lunch.  Then it finally hit me as this isn’t just teeth anymore.  Something else is going on here.  However, she runs around and still plays and she is not running fever.

I had a Dr. appointment and she wasn’t having me leave her at home.  She clung to me and wouldn’t let go.  So I took her with and told Jesse to wish me luck.  She did excellent and we didn’t have any episodes while out.  Whew!

Yesterday (Jesse went back to work) she woke up with a cough and congestion.  When she coughs she puts her little hands on her chest like it hurts to cough.  I pumped the pedialyte in her all day and didn’t let her eat much.  I even tried to get her to just sit and snuggle for a bit.  Which she would do for about 30 minutes and then she would get up and want to play a bit.  And I’ll be darned if she didn’t want Mickey Mouse yesterday and I could not get On Demand to work!  Of all days Charter… On Demand doesn’t work when I’m trying to let her watch Mickey Mouse and keep her still and rested.

By the time supper rolled around she was saying she was hungry and I thought well you have gone all day and haven’t had any episodes – so sure you can eat supper with us.  She ate a couple breadsticks and of course cheese!  This kid and her cheese – she is 100% Wisconsin.  She even kept asking for more – to which we finally cut her off.

Jesse went to clean her up after supper and she wasn’t having it.  Only wanted me.  He got her down and she came right over by me and lost her supper.  OH NO!!  I thought she was all better!  So I scooped her up and carried her to the couch and thankfully Mickey Mouse was working again and we sat there the rest of the night watching Mickey Mouse until bed time.  Again – she doesn’t have a fever!  However last night after supper she was snuggly.

Today hasn’t started yet here… she is still sleeping.  But I’m hoping she is feeling better.  I had big plans for my weekend… tonight I was going to go get new bedding for my room and paint my room this weekend!  However, if Mally is still sick I will not be letting her leave… unless she is like me when I was sick on Friday… nope mom, I’m not sick I can go see Jesse today!  : )  (Otherwise she wouldn’t let me see Jesse!  And you know it had been like 4 days since I seen him last and that is eternity in dating world.)  Mallory loves to go places and almost every day she will ask “go bu-bye” and I will say “nooo” and she will say “stay home”.

On no… she is waking up crying.  That is never a good sign!!  Gotta run!  Wish me luck today!  I am about all done with dealing with sick people this week.  I’m not cut out to be a nurse!
