The next day with the Robbins the ladies decided one day of keeping kids in carseats and riding around in jeeps was plenty. So the guys went off by themselves and we stayed home with the kids.
By the afternoon we decided we should venture out and go to the pumpkin patch.
I have two disclaimers before you view the pictures of our adventure.
1- It may appear as we have this whole trip under control. We didn’t.
2- It may appear as we were the only ones at the pumpkin patch. We weren’t.
First thing first – we sent the little boys on the train.
In hopes that we could send the big girls to go jump on this huge air trampoline.
Well… the train made one tiny lap and the girls were just getting in line when the train trip ended. So the boys had to watch… and watching was not on their plan. I think Owen attempted a crawl under the fence… but his momma was too quick and she caught him.
A trip to pet the animals was next.
Feeding donkeys – of course!
Max takes a while to warm up to the animals – but then he gets into it.
I think feeding animals could of lasted an hour!

And this… is about where the chaos begins! They wanted to crawl through the blow-up caterpillar obstacle course.
Allie goes first. She comes out. Mallory goes in. Mallory comes out. Max goes in. Owen going in. Owen comes out. Max? Max? Max? Max doesn’t come out and I can’t find him in the windows. Other kids are coming out, but not Max. He finally came out the entrance.
Meanwhile… we are trying to get Max out of this caterpillar… Owen decided enough was enough and we was on to the new fun and snuck away. Natalie notices that Owen is missing! Like full on missing! We do a quick scan of our area and there is no Owen!
I grab the rest of our kids sit them down and we don’t move. Natalie runs (literally) off to search for Owen. She found him! He found some hay bales (I think) and was climbing them. Whew! That was a scary moment!
We decide one more activity and we decided the gigantic tunnel slide. Perfect. We get all the kids in line and Natalie is going to stay with them at the top and I’m going to the bottom to catch them, if needed.
Allie comes down.
Mallory comes down.
Owen comes down.
I look up at Natalie ready for Max… and she gets this panicked look on her face and yells “YOUR NOT MAX!” with a “I lost Max! Where did Max go!”
I don’t panic. He had his eye on a tractor he wanted to sit on. I was sure he ditched the slide to go sit on the tractor. So sure of it! This kid wants to be a farmer when he grows up. He was at the tractor. However… Natalie did not know this!! Plus she feels absolutely horrible that she lost Max.
Max was wearing an orange shirt. So as Natalie was keeping track of the kids going down the slide there was a kid with an orange shirt next in line – which she thought was Max. But when it was “Max’s” turn… it wasn’t Max… but another blonde kid wearing an orange shirt!
I grab Owen we walk up the hill to go look for Max… and Natalie found him. He has walked off the slide platform and was waiting for her… because he didn’t want to go down that slide. : ) He wanted the tractor.
Natalie tells me that I didn’t know it because she was wearing sunglasses, but she had tears in her eyes she felt so bad that she lost Max.

I have no words for Mallory’s pose. I didn’t even realize she was posing like that until now when I’m looking at the pictures.
I’ll be honest. We were so very glad to leave that place! We were so very glad to have those kids strapped into their carseats and unable to run off.
And drinks were requested. And really – please just deliver to us in our van in the pumpkin patch parking lot because we have all 4 of our children!! In one piece!! A reward was needed!
