Easter

Mally and I colored eggs on Friday while Max was taking his morning nap.  It brought thoughts back of last Easter when Mally and I did this and I was pregnant with Max not knowing that he was going to be born the day before Easter and having Easter in the hospital.  (The hospital served an Easter meal for all of us.)

She liked dropping them in and then checking on them to see how they were doing.

When I went to assist her in getting an egg out I noticed something floating in one of our cups…

Her bandage!!  I didn’t realize what was going to happen next when I giggled and pointed…

She does not like bumps and scrapes.  She scraped up her finger this week on a bike and constantly needs a bandage on it.

“Hold me.”

The face she makes when she is dropping the eggs into the water – funny!

She did this every time.  Waiting for a big splash.

We were all dressed up and looking so nice this morning that we stopped quick and took two pictures.

Me too!

The other night Jesse got out the mini-bike again.  Mallory loves to ride this bike.  Turns out Max loves it too.  I was holding him in the backyard as Jesse and Mallory are doing their laps around the house and every time they would come past Max and I… Max would stretch out his arms towards Jesse and grunt.  He wanted his turn.  I was dying laughing.  I couldn’t believe he wanted to go so badly.

Well he got his turn.  The look on his face is priceless.  He is so proud!

The did their laps and every time I would die in a fit of laughter.  Max loved it!  He came by me with eyes just glowing.  He was loving every minute of this!

Then there was this baby girl.  [She asks Jesse and I to call her “baby girl”.  She is also in a stage where she likes to role play… where I have to be daddy and she will be momma.  One day it worked to my advantage – Max was taking a nap and I was daddy and she was momma and she told me that it was time for daddy to go to sleep.  So she tucked me into bed (the couch) and read me a story (which I secretly recorded and will upload soon) and insisted that I close my eyes because it was bed time.  Well the next thing I know Max is awake in his crib crying!  I fell asleep for real and she was playing around on the floor and forgot all about daddy sleeping!]

This look on her face is priceless too!  She loves it!!

This is one fun daddy!

Leaning towards Jesse and the bike to make sure that Jesse knows he wants a ride.

Daddy’s little buddy!

I’m afraid there is going to be little dirt bikes in our very near future.  These kids love this!  There is also a momma with gray hair in our very near future.  ; )

Weekend Friends

When I was uploading Max’s pictures (last post) I found a whole slew of pictures I forgot about.  One batch being these.

IMG_1016

Three of our neighbors have grandchildren Mallory’s age.  Two of them have their grandchildren all the time.  Which was a perk on this Saturday afternoon.  Mally went outside with Jesse – Max was taking a nap - I had a long hot private shower scheduled with hopes of maybe styling my hair too and make-up if I could be so lucky.  : )

The girls spotted each other and pretty soon Little K is asking her Grandma if she can come play.  And the two of them are instantly little BBFs.  Well pretty soon… one has to go potty and when one has to go the other does too.  Into the house they come.  Well Little K spotted the toy kitchen while she was waiting for Mallory and they wanted to stay in the house and play.

They were so cute I couldn’t resist taking pictures of them.  Here Little K is dressed all girly.

And then there is this girl!  Who will not wear skirts or dresses or frilly shirts.  She also doesn’t want anything in her hair.  Every morning when I bring out the basket of hair pretties she tells me “Just a clip.  Not a pony tail.”  One morning she said “Just a clip in the moonlight” in a sing song voice to the tune of Lady A’s “Just a kiss in the moonlight”.

Little K even stayed for lunch!!  Her Grandma called and said… you can send her home anytime.  Nope.  I’m getting tons done!  She is staying!  However, Little K has an older brother who was a bit jealous of their new found friendship.
