First Week

It is totally amazing how different the first week with Maxwell has been vs. with Mallory.  How quickly you pop back into your routine.  How you don’t need as much sleep as you did with the first.  How much more relaxed I am with everything this time around.

IMG_0127However, Little Max is a sleeper.  This kid loves to sleep!  I pretty much still have to wake him up for feedings.  He does okay during the nights.  Last night was rough – he didn’t stop grunting/wiggling until about 1am.  Was up at 3am.  Up again at 6am… and Mally has been waking up at 6am now!!!!  This girl use to sleep until 8 and baby Max shows up and she can no longer sleep late into the morning.  Grrr!  : )   And I keep Max as quiet as possible during the early morning hours in hopes that she will sleep longer.  However, she takes awesome naps in the afternoon – but I don’t take naps so… Welcome to life with two, I guess.  : )

I really need to figure out how to change boy diapers.  I have been peed on so many times I lost count.  Even poor Mallory got the pleasure of being peed on!  She stands on her stool next to the changing table and she got showered.  She stood there with this look on her face like – why am I wet?  and started to cry.  Today I was changing him and he went three times during one change!  Max *hates* getting his diaper changed and gets very angry and very wiggly – I had a huge mess!

Max has found his way into the Moby Wrap already.  He is a huge fan of it.  He will be so mad and I get him in here and he calms right down.  I am also a huge fan, because I get both my hands/arms.

Tomorrow I have my first outing, by myself, with both of them.  I’m kind of nervous.  However, it is just to the doctors… but still!  Oh and Max needs diapers and my curtains came in.  Hmm… my true mommy skills may be tested tomorrow.  : )

Just read your birth story... congrats! I've also found that things are a lot easier the second time around. (I'n not going to find out about the third time around.) That baby wrap makes life with two so much easier. Asher had that little out that Max has on and it melted my heart seeing that picture- they are just so little.

Lynn, I will tell you the key to changing boy diapers - we kept a little washcloth on the changing table to cover "it" up while changing the diaper. They also have something hilarious at Babies R Us called the "peepee teepee" that is just for boys - HA! It works, though, and will keep you from getting peed on! :)

I'm seriously in histerics right now I am an evil friend cause I think its hilarious that you've been peed on so many times. I'm glad that Max is an equal opportunity kind of guy though peeing on everyone...he needs to pee on Maggie though to make it totally even:)
Great pictures, the ones with him sleeping are just so precious.
