She Now Hides!

Tonight we ate supper outside and I was bringing everything back into the house and I told Mallory to go clean up her toys out front and put them in the toy box in garage.

Mally pops her head in the basement and yells “Momma can you help me pick up the toys?”  Yes, I will.  You go get started and I’ll be right there.

Pretty soon Jesse says… Where is Mallory?  She is out front picking up her toys.  No she is not.  Now I would say that a matter of a minute has passed since her and I just talked.

So we start yelling for her and walking around the house.  She isn’t anywhere!

Jesse walks into the house a couple times and yells for her and looks for her – she isn’t anywhere!

I walk around outside everywhere – she isn’t anywhere!

I walk in the house and look around and yell.  She isn’t anywhere!

I walk back outside and start looking down the street and under things and we are literally YELLING and there is no response and no Mallory!

I am pretty sure panic starts to set into both of us.  I know I had panic!  I start yelling – Mallory!  Mallory no hiding!  Mallory!

Jesse goes back in the house and finds her… in the spare bedroom… in the basement… under the bed!!!!!

She use to hide and when you went looking for her she would get the case of the giggles and come out and say “I’m right here!”  And now she is so blasted good at hiding!!  And doesn’t dare give herself away!  So we had to have a little chat about when you want to play and hide and seek… you need to tell us you are playing!!  : )

Quick Vacation Glimpse

I just uploaded my pictures tonight to clean out my camera before we head to the zoo in a few days!  Here are some of my favorites.

The night before we left I put the kids in clean summer pajamas because we were going to be waking them up pretty early and putting them directly into car seats for about 9 hours.  I wanted them comfy yet clean yet some what attractive.  Well – Mally claims she is cold after I put her to bed, so she digs in her dresser drawers and finds random pants and puts them over top of her pajamas!   I don’t know she does this until she wakes up in the morning.  Now it is not cold in here – we have been in the 100s almost the entire month of July with one teeny tiny window AC unit!  When we got to Uncle Jerry & Auntie Steph’s (who went on vacation with us) house – Auntie Steph giggled because of Mally’s going on vacation look.  Razzled hair, sunglasses, mardi-gras beads, fish pajama shirt, flower pants, and her crocks!  Hey, she is ready for vacation!!IMG_3027

We spent almost every night after supper until bed down by the lake letting the kids play.  They loved it!  I think I laughed hard for about 3 minutes when I saw Max like this!  Do you think he can see or move?

One afternoon we stayed at the cabin to give kids naps and I was laying in the grass tanning and playing with my camera.  I kind of like this shot…

Maxwell loved picking up handfuls of sand and dropping them into the water.

Fishing!  They actually were catching fish one night with left over steak!

And flying kites at the beach!  Lake Superior.

Predicting… A Class Clown

We are back from our week long vacation and I have a few pictures to upload and few videos to upload… however I started reading a book while on vacation and I am so into it and want to finish it.  So I’m using all my free time being a total bookworm.  But I wanted to give you a short story while you wait for me to finish this book.

This afternoon the kids and I were in the house.  Max and Mally were playing and I was on the computer trying to figure out what to do with my million and one cherry tomatoes that I grew.  I needed a supper plan so I was doing a quick research on what to make with them.

All of sudden kids are not playing nice and Mally is knocking Max to the ground stealing his toys.  She started doing this recently so I am quick to discipline her on it.  I asked her to come by me so we could discuss what she just did.  She ran away.  To time out she went.

After her time out we were sitting there on the floor and Max walks over and goes into the time out spot and puts his nose in the corner and starts fake pouting/crying!  At first I didn’t really understand what he was doing, but then I figured it out.  He was doing what Mally just did.  He stood there with his nose in the corner fake crying for awhile.  I couldn’t take it!  I was just about rolling on the ground laughing!  He wasn’t moving.  So finally I said, okay, Max your all done come give Momma a hug and say your sorry.  He turned around had this little grin on his face and hugged me and attempted to say sorry.  He totally knew he was being funny.  Have I mentioned that he is only 15 months old!?  Oh what does our future hold with this one?!  Only time will tell…  : )
