Hello June!!!

Ah! We are finally getting into the summer months! I had a friend ask me yesterday if it was starting to get warm by us? This is what I told her "Friend! I finally took the flannel sheets off... TODAY!!" So yes it is starting to get warm over here in the 'frozen tundra'. I have been walking around with the burnt raccoon face look all last week... and I did it again today. Don't you know that is the new summer look?! Put a pair of your favorite sunglasses on and bake in the sunshine. LOL.

Not a whole lot has happened since my last post. I had a successful trip back to Oregon and hired a great secretary! So far she is everything I could have asked for and more!!

Being the person in charge of the interview - is so stressful! I love that my boss lets me do this, but man do I stress myself out. I feel like this time around I did a far better job of getting a feel for the person during the interview. Even though I am sure everyone is on their best behavior for interviews. I definitely have the odd interviewers. I had one gal practically beg me to hire her. She wouldn't leave! It was very awkward. I had 4 gals not even show up! Last time I only had one person not show up... but 4 this time! WOW! I have the nervous laughter interviewers. Those are extremely funny. I almost have a hard time not laughing with them. Why do they have to nervous laugh so loudly?!

Jesse is starting to apply for his post-doc. He has put in 2 applications... one within the prison system and one with a VA hospital. Now that Jesse has put a few applications out there we are both getting extremely excited to see where we will be going next. We have done this waiting process many times before so I should be good with it... but I am not. I just want to know already. : ) Time will tell.

Back to Oregon

I am headed back to Oregon tonight. My assistant back in Oregon is leaving. : ( So, my boss is flying me back out there for the week to interview, hire and train a new one. I leave tonight about 6:45pm and get back home really late Friday night.

I have about 11 interviews scheduled for Monday & Tuesday... hopefully I can find that special someone within those 11. I do have my favorites... but sometimes that changes once you bring them in, sit down with them, and get them talking.

And just to make you all a little bit jealous... Um, it is suppose to be 90 there on Thursday & Friday!!!!! Oh yeah!!

Diggin

We went back to our parents this past weekend. My little brother was getting confirmed... which basically means he became a member of the Catholic church. I was his sponsor. For some reason I was really nervous. All I had to do was walk to the front of the church with him, put my arm on his right shoulder, and say "Bishop, this is Adam." Of course I joked around with Adam before it started and told him that I was going to say "Bishop, this is Aaaaddddduuuum." Then we decided on "Bishop, this is Rubber Ducky". If you ever call Adam's cell phone and get his voice mail you will hear hilarious voicemail greetings. One day I called him and got "This is Rubber Ducky. It is swimming weather, so leave a message." Every since I heard that I call him Rubber Ducky.

Oh and Adam was the very last person to be confirmed. So we were the last ones standing up there with no other people to block us - so you know everyone is looking right at you. Ick! Right before we stand up to walk to the front of the church I see a scuff on my shoe... "Um Adam - I can't go my shoe is scuffed!!"

It all went well. For some reason the Bishop liked him and confirmed him. : )

Sunday we spent some time with the Freys. When we got there Jesse's Dad asked him what he was doing for the day. Jesse said nothing. Dave got all excited and said "Good. I have a project for you." This project was to help him dig out the sewer ditch!! FUN! (kidding) I volunteered to ride shotgun so that I could soak up the nice day we were having.

This is what Jesse and I drove - the pug! Dave would put his sewer yuck in here and we would haul it away and dump it.

And what is a day of running equipment without getting stuck?!? Yes, we are stuck!! Dave needed to go across the highway to dig out another sewer and he thought he would go around back (kind of threw the field) to avoid the highway and well... we are stuck!!!

Dave had to take the digger off the trailer and push the trailer and truck out of the mud.

Now we are safely on the other side of the highway at Jesse's cousins to dig out their sewer. Here is Jesse taking a whirl at digging. So, I can totally see why Jesse caused so much trouble when ever he was to run equipment for his Dad when he was younger. Let me tell you what we are doing... we are digging out the yuck in the ditch and putting it in the pug. Jesse takes a scoop - a huge-mega scoop and goes to put it in the pug and gets 1/2 in the pug and 1/2 hanging out. Then he looks at Dave & I and starts laughing! Dave lets him keep digging and pretty soon I tell Dave "We are going to be here all day if you don't get back on there."

Then Dave says "Hey Lynn you want to try?" Um!!!!! Are you serous?!!! He was! So I hoped on and he showed me what to do. Here I am. Dave wouldn't let me dump the yuck in the pug so I just made a pile on the ground.

I only did a few scoops then I gave it back to Dave. We would have been there all day if I was doing it too.

There you have it... I weekend back at our parents! Fun, eh?!
