Yogi–Day Two

While the guys packed up the campers – we took the kids to play mini golf one last time.

Here is how Mallory golfed.  Don’t you try to correct her technique either.  She knows what she is doing.  I tried.  I was barked at.

Then there is Max.  Don’t correct him either.  He knows as well what he is doing.  He barks too.

Towards the end he kept hitting himself in the head with his club.  But he still refused to let me help him.

They wanted their pictures taken with the statues.

Grandpa Dave was coming to tell us it was time to go.  And look who showed up!!  Yogi Bear!

Pretty special that they got to see him one last time.  And they didn’t even have to search the entire campground for him!

You know it was a good weekend when they look like this on the drive home.

Camping with Yogi Bear

We went camping in August with the Freys to Jellystone Park.  Camping at Jellystone is the kids favorite place to go.  Melanie had a doctor appointment the morning before we left and Max and Mallory told every single nurse, doctor, and staff person at the hospital that they were going camping at Yogi Bear Camp as soon as Daddy got home from work!!  They were a tad bit excited!

Saturday morning camp chef cooked us breakfast!  I loved his outfit so I had to get a picture!

IMG_8613

These three (Mallory, Kelli & Max) rode around on the golf cart in search of Yogi Bear the entire weekend!

IMG_8617

At one point they had asked Grandpa Dave to go for a golf cart ride to look for Yogi Bear.  He never tells them no, so off they went.  They were gone a super long time!  All of sudden we see Yogi Bear go by on a golf cart!!  We all say… there goes Yogi, where are the kids?!  Literally seconds later Grandpa Dave and all the kids are right behind Yogi in their golf cart!  We laughed so hard!  They were following Yogi all over the camp ground!!  They were definitely Yogi’s stalkers for the weekend.

Grandpa Dave was craving cake so he bought a cake in honor of Jesse’s birthday… which was two weeks ago!!  Kyle’s birthday was going to be in two weeks.

IMG_8619

We pretended the cake was for both of them and we made them hold the cake and we all sang to them.

We took the kids down to the pond to swim.  It was really foggy out but warm.

Grandpa Dave came to the beach with socks and dress shoes and I just couldn’t take it.  I had to get a picture of him relaxing on the beach watching the kids swim.

IMG_8628

Melanie can sleep anywhere.  She slept on the beach in the sand.

Grandma Mary teaching Max how to swim.

It got foggier.  It reminded me so much of living out in Oregon.

IMG_8634

Dave said that Moms never get their picture taken so he made me pose with Melanie.

IMG_8635

Then I had to get a better background and Mary posed with me.

Jesse was on call for work this weekend and I didn’t know until the weekend was already planned and booked.  We took a risk and kept it.  Well he got called into work and was gone most of Saturday.  Kind of a bummer but Jesse is a great sport about it and he was back before dark.

We took the kids for a train ride and I attempted a picture with Max and this is what he does.  Such a clown this kid!

IMG_8652

On the train ride a group of kids were singing a Yogi Bear song and all be darned if that song wasn’t stuck in our heads for the rest of the weekend.

I have a friend named Yogi Bear… Yogi, Yogi, Yogi Bear

Yogi has a friend named BooBoo Bear…. BooBoo, BooBoo, BooBoo Bear

Yogi has a girlfriend named Cindy Bear… Cindy, Cindy, Cindy Bear

They all live in Jellystone… Jelly, Jelly, Jellystone

Melanie Mae–2 Months

Melanie turned two months!  This little baby girl has been with us for two months and has done more then any of the other two did in their first two months!  Amazing how much more relaxed you become when it is the third.

IMG_8607She has been sleeping great.  Going to bed about 10pm and waking between the 2am – 3:30am hour.  Then at about 5:30am – 6:00am she wakes up to grunt and fill her pants.  Then up again when the big kids wake up.  Also sleeps great during the day.

I’ve been trying to get her on a bit of a schedule (during the day) to help us get ready for school.  But I haven’t been so successful with that.  I want her to start taking naps in her crib and she can only sleep about 30-45 minutes in there and she is up.  She wants to take her naps right in the middle of the chaos.  She sleeps the hardest (during the day) if she is in her little bouncy chair in the middle of the kids while they are yelling, running, and playing.

IMG_8609She has some great grumpy eyes!  While awake and while she is sleeping.

IMG_8610She is making great eye contact now and starting to smile.  She makes the best contact with Mallory.  Jesse and I were kind of worried because she did not make great eye contact with us.  Not even me!  I would get right in her face and she would look away.  Well no baby of mine is going to look away.  So I kept getting in her face.  Mallory comes around starts talking sweetly to her and Melanie looks right at her and won’t take her eyes away!  Oh yeah!  That doesn’t fly with this Momma.  I got in her face a lot and now she looks at me and smiles!  Mommy win!

Nick Names: Squawker, Squawker McGee, Menie, Melie Mae, Sugar

IMG_8611

She got Squawker because she doesn’t really cry.  She just kind of gives out a little squawk here and there.  She can cry.  But she only whips it out when she needs to.  Otherwise a squawk is enough to get her point across to us that we need to either hold her, talk to her, give her a blanket, give her a nuk, feed her.  She pretty much has four servants that bend over for her and give her anything she wants.

IMG_8612We decided that green is her color when she wore this.  It looked so good on her!
