Haircut!

Well it took me a while to finally pick up the phone and call for Mr. Max’s haircut, but I did it!

IMG_1563

He did so good and sat on my lap.  He isn’t shy like Mallory is.

He did start getting a little worried.

IMG_1569

And did cry so we found the good ‘ol pacifier and he was good… until he saw his blanket and then he needed that.  His stylist was afraid it would get all full of hair, but I said… lets just stick it under his cape.  It worked!  : )  He held on to it under his cape and he was good for the rest of the time.

This little lady was also so good!  She sat here with Daisy just soaking it in and didn’t say a peep.

IMG_1572

The receptionist was our photographer and she was falling in love with my camera and started getting artsy on me!  Love it!

IMG_1580

He was well over due for a nap – which in a way was nice because he sat pretty still because he was so tired.

IMG_1592

On our walk home (from the salon) he was sleeping in no time and after he woke up I got a picture of him.

He looks so different.  I didn’t think this kid could get any cuter… but he did!

Ties & Mustaches

Maxwell One 02

I think it is an unwritten rule that your child will get sick the day of your party.  And when you have multiple children… they will all be sick the day of your party.

IMG_1421

Max actually got sick about 2 days before and on Friday Mally got it and I ended up having to run unplanned errands for FreyMoto so the kids spent most of the day in their carseats sleeping… which was good I thought because this forced them to take it easy and rest.

IMG_1422

Of course it backfired.  Mally is freaking out (literally freaking out) every time her nose runs… she grunts and whines and runs for a kleenex, brings it to you while still grunting and whining and when you go to wipe her nose she flings her head because she hates it.  And we are doing this about every 3.5 seconds!!

IMG_1426

I looked at Jesse and said… should we cancel?  This is just day one of the cold for Mally and can you imagine her doing this all day at the party?  I think she will need to rest.  Jesse agreed and we canceled the party for Saturday and had it on Sunday.

Uncle Adam crashed on his bike trying to show the kids his tricks.

Saturday morning – Mally wakes up and we have grunting and whinning and snotty runny noses!  Good idea to cancel.  She spent most of her day laying on the couch watching way too much TV and drinking tons of juice.  Which worked for me because I spent my day in the kitchen getting ready for the party!  Max was getting better and better.

IMG_1483

Sunday turned out much better for them.  Mally was still sick – but she had improved greatly and we were up to about every 30.8 seconds between Kleenex.

IMG_1485

It turned out to be a great little party and everyone was still able to come even though we had a last minute reschedule.

IMG_1487

I did a tie and mustache theme for his party.  His cake turned out so cute!  And not only was it cute it was also so yummy!  Mrs. Carolyn’s girls were so excited that we had cake left over and her oldest girl was at our house every day last week and she is never at our house… I joked that she was here just to eat cake.  : )

IMG_1495

Jesse’s Dad even called at the end of the week to do a cake check… one piece left… I had to put his name on it he was coming the next day for it.  : )

Reading books!

Mally assisting Max opening presents.  During Mally’s parties she won’t open her presents… maybe this year she will.

IMG_1525

What’s in there?

IMG_1531

A ball!

IMG_1535

Which he instantly throws.

IMG_1533

A ride on truck with cars and people!

IMG_1541

And a four wheeler.

IMG_1547

Showed him the button to push to make it go.

IMG_1548

And he was off.  He was driving that four wheeler within minutes!  Boys!  Mally hopped on it and crashed within seconds and never got back on and still doesn’t care to ride it.  Girls!  : )

Everyone showed up in a tie and I thought it was so fun so I took everyone’s picture!

Bedtime

Lets just say it was a good thing we exercised tonight because I was much more relaxed and could handle tonight's bedtime.

We had been outside and we came in and it was already 7:20.  Bedtime is 7:30.  So I get Max his bottle and while he is sucking that down Mally and I are going to pick up toys.  Toys are finally picked up.  I usher kids towards their bedroom while dropping Mally off at the bathroom to go potty and brush her teeth.

While I am getting Max in his jammies we take a moment to blow on his belly and send him into fits of giggles.  He giggles so easy and so hard – I love it.  Finally get him dressed and put him on the floor.

Meanwhile I think… wow it is taking Jesse a long time to put the outside toys away.  Wonder what he got distracted by.

Mally is still in the bathroom and has moved onto brushing her teeth.  She also decided that she needed to clean the toothpaste so she was filling up my toothpaste with water and cleaning out the cap.  Oh so helpful.

I grab the humidifier to fill it up – both kids have had head colds that have been lingering on and on and on and on.  I’m filling up the humidifier and I hear Max crawling down the hallway and don’t think anything of it.  All of sudden Mally yells “HE IS PLAYING IN THE WATER!!”  I drop my humidifier and run for the bathroom!  Sure enough.  He is bent over the toilet just a splashing away with a huge smile on his face and when he sees me and knows I am going to stop his little fun he lets out a squeal.  Oh and to really gross you out… Mally didn’t flush!!!

We then wash him up and get him all clean and put him in his crib!  Decide to call Jesse and see what is taking so long… the downfall of having your own business in your back yard is it constantly hangs over your head and he was out there working trying to finish up on a few things.  I fill him in on all the chaos he is missing and we laugh.

Brush Mally’s teeth, get her jammies on, put Max in his lazy boy recliner (he has been sleeping in the bouncy seat to keep him elevated during his head cold), read Mally’s bible story (she requested Jonah and the big fish), prayers and good night!!

Na-night babies!  Momma loves you!!  : )
